| Quote ="BuckleyStreetWire"Oh yeah, how bad was the Ablett hit in Joel Monaghan at the end? Was "on report" a cop out for a poor effort at a tackle? and should we have has an eight point try for it?
(I couldn't tell fro over the other side and can't see poop on the screen!)'"
Ablett tried to kick the ball out of Joel's hands as he placed the ball over the line. He missed and kicked him in the head instead, so it was a bad one and he will certainly get suspended for it. No real malice though, and he did apologise.

| Thought last night was our performance of the season. One "failure" that I thought summed up the teams attitude was Rhys Evans backing himself to around the outside of the Leeds defence only to get knocked into touch just before the line. Two more yards and that would have been one heck of a try. 10/10 for at least having a go.

| Very harsh to call it a failure, I don't mind h I'm backing himself but hardaker did a good job covering the supporting runners.
It'll be part of Rhys' learning process, he gets in that position again in future, he'll cut in earlier or know to throw himself at the line in the air.

| I would like to see Laithwaites play loose, he's got great hands and his tackling is unbelievable with the amount of work he puts in. Don't see him breaking the line as a busting second rower more of a link loose. Apparently played all his junior rugby at Crosfields as a loose fwd.

| Quote ="chapylad"Top performance by your team tonight.
Totally outplayed us in every department. Your line speed and play the ball kept you on the front foot all game. Our half backs were clueless and our forwards were totally bossed by your pack.
Hill was immense and Michael Monaghan controlled the game.
Even Atkins looked good
Your only weakness was for me Asotasi who would have fit in well alongside Clarkson and Kirke for us.
Well deserved victory for you tonight

"Failure" was simply referring to the fact that he didnt make. I thought it was great that he had the belief to go for it. Had he made the line it would have been awesome.

| On Ablett and Joel, did I hear right that his defence to the ref was 'I was trying to kick the ball'? Isn't that illegal as well? Do players actually know that, it seems to happen a lot across the league.

| Quote ="Winslade's Offload"Agreed that was the best performance for a very long time. Even England is starting to look promising. The only worries are that we seem to have lost Curie (anybody see his injury ?) and Ratchford will almost certainly get done for his tackle. Hopefully Joel Monaghen will be ok, his departure looked precautionary.'"
I think that's a little unfair. We seem to forget that he was injured mid May-January. I have no doubt he will come good. It really says it all when a young lad making the step up from part time to full time footy is getting starts over a former test captain.

| I wasn't actually being critical in England's case. It does look more promising for him, he was running hard at the Leeds line, didn't seem to drop anything, didn't get involved in any confrontations and from what I can remember, got through a reasonable tackling stint. But he needs to make better use of his size and gain more yardage when taking the ball up, and lets not forget he is not a young lad at all, he is 27 yrs old - a prime age for a prop. With a bit of luck he will stay injury free to the end of the season and we can see if he makes the transition or not.

| If England can stay injury free, the game time will do him good and he will end up a decent SL prop.
The problem England has, is that we are trying to compare him with Hill... who is a FREAK and head and shoulders the best prop in super league.
we cant expect any signing to come in and be as good as hill, as its not going to happen.

| If he can be half as good as hill, I'll be happy. However at times it does look like he's coming to terms with SL, the handling errors are disappearing, and were using him in a very specific way in attack.

| I like the way England runs the ball in with everything he has.... he is a maximum effort player.... hopefully he keeps on improving and does us proud.
He has improved no end over the last 6 games.... you can see every aspect of his game getting better. I think we will be looking at a solid prop before the season ends.

| Needs more discipline in the defensive line for me, he loves a big shot, and it's all very well nailing a guy but if that guy he's just put in row z gets the ball out he leaves holes.

| hill is a beast and westwood is the beating heart of this side.
to be honest im taking objection to the 'waterhouse is amazing' posts i saw last week.
ive still seen nothing from him that warrants this false love in i get to read from the usual crowd.
laithwaite, Evans and Currie (injury permitting) have shown as much as 'house' ever has.... we certainly haven't missed him since he has been injured.... infact, we have been much improved.
if you dont like that, i dont care....

| Hill has been unbelievable. Go back a few years though when he first started playing for us and (for me) you can see the similarities in the way that both Hill and England now have always whammed onto the
the ball. I think England has been terrific for us and is odds on to be the next Hill/Walmsley.

| I was chuffed with our win on Friday , but even more happy with the performance.
My only other comment is directed to the Leeds club & that is can we please have Zak Hardaker!. Just for the next 10 years or so.

| .... I'm not so sure our club condones homophobic players.
Unless Zac was using the power of media to tell his misses to have feckin faggots on the table for tea when he gets home.

He is a very good player but I am more than happy with matty Russell. Once he sorts out his distribution and timing in attack I am convinced we will have a big fans favourite for years to come. His defence is superb, very good with the high ball and he returns the ball as well as anyone in the league. Also I think his pace is a nice insurance policy when our line does get broken.

| I think one thing that has been overlooked slightly is that it's OK playing like this in one game but the best sides can back it up week in week out.
This is where Waterhouse and Westwood come in. Hardened pros.
If the young guys can do that then great but I doubt they can put that level of performance in consistently just yet.

Hopefully Grix and Wood will be back soon, (chance Grix will make an appearance on Sunday) and we'll have Westwood back after KR.
Sadly Trent will be out until at least August but I'm sure between them Laithwaite and Currie can cover him when they're back.
We've beaten the two sides everyone was tipping to face each other in the GF earlier in the year in the last 3 games and we beat Leeds despite going down to one sub with injuries. That will have certainly given the young lads confidence and that's what they need.
Only time will tell if they can be consistent but 4 wins on the trot is a foot in the right direction for me!

| One thing I thought from your win and the manner of it was that it was not directed by one or two key players.
Bridge was your stand out player but the win was due to a 100% effort from 1-17.
When you've had Briers, Hodgson, Morley they can dictate things on the field and supress efforts of perhaps the less experienced.
I never gave you a chance prior to kick off but you played Leeds off the park.
Not seen Leeds so outplayed since 3 or 4 years ago when they went to Saints with their hair dyed pink. They got battered that day.
Well Done, a great win and even better for you a superb team performance.
