| To be honest, I think players ought to be advised against hurling the ball into the crowd as a part of their celebrating. Similar happened in the Hull game when they scored in the South-East and their player launched the ball into the crowd narrowly missing the young kids (3-4 years old) in front of me and some pensioners just behind. If I was at a game with either my young son, or elderly father and they got a ball full in the face I think I would have every right to be very angry.
Penalties/Conversions are a different matter as the ball going into the crowd is unavoidable and most people are aware that the ball could be coming their way and should be prepared for it.

Canadian humorist Stephen Leacock wrote charmingly about celebrating his PhD in mathematics with a boat trip. The men on board all noted a very attractive young lady, and when the message came over the loudspeaker that said young lady had fainted, and if there was a doctor on board, report to the captains cabin. Leacock rushed there, but was preceded by a Doctor of Music and two Doctors of Divinity.

However he then said he wanted to bring the incident to a close which is somewhat contradictory. He found himself caught in the heat of the moment and needs to accept that he was misinformed, learn some lessons from it and move on.'"
I, too, heard the same interview, Ganson's (I was VERY disappointed with Allan Beswick, he's normally Paxmanesque in these circumstances) .
The "good" doctor went on to say "We don't want to see things like that in our lovely sport"
The match commisioner said nothing happened
Koukash said he spoke to the head steward who said a Warrington player chucked a bottle....
....someone's telling porkies.
We need to find out EXACTLY what happened.
IF a Warrington player has chucked a bottle, he needs a metaphorical loving
If nothing has happened (which, listening to Dearden and McGregor's tete-a-tete, I tend to take more credence), then Koukash needs to make a SNIVELLING apology to the player involved, and a MASSIVE donation to the Wolves' charitable trust, to save a little bit of face. Koukash is not covering himself in glory, on this one.

| If the Head Steward personally told Marwan Koukash that a Warrington player threw a bottle , then he wants removing from the post he has held for a very long time, it was a stupid thing to say and was proven wrong at the time by the fact a steward took the bottle off Westwwod and then Later on when the photos were shown....
I on the other hand would not believe a word that comes out of koukash's mouth....
I like him though..... its like that nob head mate you come across from time to time who bullpoops all the time ...you know when he's telling lies and all the time in your head your not listening your just saying "you bullpooping whopper shut the feck up....."

I've read the same thing, Who are ya.
I find McGregor's comments, disturbing
"Nothing untoward happened"
Excuse me, but a bottle has been thrown onto the pitch. That's pretty untoward in my book
Get the CCTV on the West Stand, find out who's chucked the bottle, and get him in front of Warrington Magistrates tout de suite. LOWLIFE.
Back on thread, Koukash is a throbber.

I got the impression that Ian McGregor meant that nothing untoward happened regarding Ben Westwood; hopefully as you say the idiot who threw the bottle is brought to justice

Good point well made, I think the incident at Widnes was bellendery at its finest, "he who is without sin throw the first bottle".
It's all much ado about nothing, I've more issue with the rash statements than with the ball hurling/plastic bottle throwing aspect of this particular molehill

Copied from the MEN Story today which used some comments from about two days ago. From what I read earlier today, Koukash said at a meeting with some of our fans last night that he had been misinformed and would be issuing an apology.

| WOW. He's really is proving himself to have a distinct lack of class isn't he old Mr Koukash. If he didnt see the incident, he shouldn't be commenting in my opinion.
But, is this just deflection tactics so he doesn't have to say for a third?? time that there's no way Salford will get beat by such a heavy margin as the one vs Warrigton again......

| When is he signing Ratchford? I'm sure Stef can't wait to become a human turnstile. We sign all of Salford's players(despite them signing far more ex-wires).

| I've been sitting on my hands since Sunday but after reading posts from a variety of places, I need to join in.
Dr Koukash is an academic. As such, he should have the nouse to check his sources to establish the truth of what happened.
I watched him walk to the West Stand to placate his supporters and the view from where I was, was 'Respect'. So much so, that when he walked back to his place in the stands, we applauded him.
Reading what he said to the press left me astounded and all respect has been withdrawn.
Some people feel that all publicity is good publicity but I disagree. In this case, stating that 'we don't want this in 'our lovely game'', really angered me.
Surely bringing this situation to the national press helps to damage 'our lovely game'.
With respect to Dr Koukash, he has been in 'our lovely game' for less than five minutes and if he continues with his ill thought out soundbites, he will bring 'our lovely game' into disrepute.
This is the kind of publicity we really don't need.

2/3rds of the way down. He has spoken to and apologised to Ben. (Funny how people always do that "in private" even when they so publically spouted off in the first place)'"
Quite, although fair play to him for apologising. He said he was going to "deal with" the Salford fans if he found out they were lying. Crumbs.
I see he has sacked Parrish. Ignore the reference to "mutual consent", I suspect that's what has been inserted into the Compromise Agreement used to tie up his termination package. When someone uses the phrase Quote If someone is not doing it we need to move them on'" , they've been sacked, regardless of what he says in his next breath.
It's going to be fascinating to watch Salford over the next 12 months, regardless of whether they're any good or not. The fact that he isn't going to tone down the hyperbole is delicious.
