I would have thought that Tony Smith wasn't the sort of coach to play these silly mind games. it's not like we're heading into a major final and need a psychological edge. It's a league game and an early season one at that. Whether we win this game or not will not make a grand deal of difference at the end of the season.
I think the fact that we've not won at Knowsley Road in the SL-era means far more to us than it does to the Wire players or coaching staff. In my opinion, if Briers isn't in the 19-man squad then he isn't playing. I just don't think Tony Smith would mess about like that.

I totally agree. He's never done it before so I don't see why he would start now. I don't recall any recent coach doing it to be honest. |

ok here it goes ill probably get slated for this post but although vinnie had a good game last week, i'd prefer to see Mitchell there myself. IMO Vinnie doesn't offer alot so give the young lad a chance he shown what he could do against leeds. |

| Did anyone listen to the Rugby League show on BBC Manchester last night? I wasn't paying full attention but they had Ryan Atkins on the phone and I'm SURE when asked if Briers is playing he said something along the lines of "well he's been training, and he's in the squad". Obviously he isn't in the squad though, so maybe there are some mind games going on.
