Not only did he try and gouge Harrison's eye, he then punched him as he tried to regain his feet! What awful, awful, cowardly play. Hock is just showing himself for the scumbag that he is.

He better get a ban that means his season is over, RFL need to seriously clamp down on him. That was the (at least) third incident Hock was guilty of through the game.

Contrast this with Smith who has in his notes encouraged our fans to NOT boo ST.

Also Solo pled guilty and lodged no appeal after getting a game and missing todays huge game.

Smith is a class act and should be applauded, this is what i love about RL.

Erm, most if not all Wiganers have said Hock deserves a ban. I wont complain if we dont see him well into next season. It was feckin stupid!!

Maybe he hasn't seen the incident properly yet? I think when he watches it again he will change his mind. At the time from the away stand I didn't see it properly and just thought it was handbags etc. But then I got a text from a mate saying it was a bad one, came home watched it again, realised it was bad and that it deserves a lengthy ban.

I don't think you will see Maguire appealing or sticking up for him when he faces the disciplinary panel.

There's a contrast emerging between the Tony Smith approach which is that the aim is to play the right kind of rugby and then that will will lead to the right results and the Michael Maguire approach which is to do whatever is required to get the right results....attacks to the knees, gouging, pretending to be injured, holding players by deliberately trapping the arm/legs etc win penalties , bringing players back early from long bans for drugs, challenging refs decisions etc.

It feeds through into things like accepting bans, accepting bad reffing decisions, accepting disciplinary punishments. In short behaving like men not like spoiled children.

I have no doubt if a Warrington player acted as Hock did, Tony Smith (and the Warrington club) would deal with the player and then hand it to the disciplinary.

On a similar note I suspect the petulant and foolish Tompkins needs a mature coaching influence to stop him going off the rails and it looks like Maguire is not providing that influence. Looking at the change in Lee Briers attitude (and others) under Smith, he could do wonders for Tompkins.

Disgraceful from both Hock and Maguire. To condone that and play it off as nothing is nothing short of farcical. Show's Maguire's true colours, the underhand tactics employed by the Wigan team are obviously not a coincidence and this statement magnifies that point.

Again, where does it say he was referring to the Hock incident? The bit I read doesn't list the questions Maguire was asked, who knows what the question was. If I missed this elsewhere then obviously I take it back...
