Somebody on the pie board mentioned a statue of Lance Todd himself and im inclined to agree. Certainly a name thats synonymous with rugby league at wembley.

It should be any player with a good history with Wembley who is also recognisable outside of RL circles.

Of people mentioned so far that could be any of Edwards, Hanley or Offiah.

Neil Fox. Highest points scorer in Rugby League and I think still holds the record for most points in a Wembley Challenge Cup Final.

Jonathan Davies, mid-air, shortly after skinning Brett Mullins for a Great Britain try would be ace. Unlikely though.

Some people have said Shaun Edwards but not for me, due mainly to his lengthy career in RU. I know it sounds bitter but I really don't care. Last thing we need is people walking past and saying 'oh look, isn't that the bloke who Coaches Wasps?'

And you want Jonathan Davies. He has spent far more time in Rugby Union than Shaun Edwards.

Should be Hanley, not even our biggest fan could argue with that.

Didn't Hanley go to union though for a brief spell in the early 2000s?

If Edwards and Hanley are out because of their union links how about Phil Clarke? Wigan and GB captain and an instantly recognisable figure in RL that has not had any links with union.

How good would it be if when you were walking up Wembley way you were greeted with a bronze statue of Phil Clarke in heroic pose with a sword and shield, like the iconic statue of Achilles in Hyde Park:



Around the statue plinth at the bottom it could have an inscription like THOSE WHO COMMIT UNSPORTSMANLIKE PLAY SHALL RECEIVE THE PUNISHMENT OF THE RUGBY GODS, it would be an inspiring message that to me sums up what the greatest game is about.

Move the genitalia up, just above the eyes, and I'll back your idea!

Maybe they could get the sculptor to alter the shape of the genitalia if Wigan reached the Challenge Cup final.

Didn't say I wanted Jonathan Davies. Just one of my most memorable moments and a statue of it would look cool.
