I couldn't find any highlights of the 32 nil spanking Widnes 18s gave to Leeds 18s up at their place

I'm sure non of those widnes lads will be moving on at first chance.

John Bastian has really had very little effect with Leeds. The players were already in place coming through before him, and still are coming through. Infact the players Bastian did work with are the ones you are now seeing thrashed in the under 20's. Leeds juniors younger under 20's have certainly improved since Bastian left coincidentally.

Leeds under 20's problems is mainly down to the coaching set up, which is a jobs for the boys brigade, rather than anything meaningfull.

Emmitt came through OUR academy!

He did play in your academy up to a point, then left and played amateur union. He then signed for our academy, perhaps from Blackbrook although I can't really remember.

Far from developing Emmitt, it seems he got disillusioned with RL at Wire and was lost to the sport for a while. He has been promoted to the St Helens first team via the St Helens youth team, which is the point I was making.

No, he came through our system, left RL and then joined Saints. He may be completing his development with Saints but did much of it with Warrington.

So he came through both systems then, yes? Saints brought him into their youth system from amateur rugby.

And much of it at Blackbrook, Rylands and Lymm RFC. Doesn't stop him being a player brought through to the first team by St Helens' youth system. I'm struggling to see why you're arguing the point to be honest, but as I said, each to their own.

Warrington Wolves Supporters' Trust next event will be on Wednesday 14th July 2010 in the Platinum Suite North Stand, Halliwell Jones Stadium, doors open at 6.45 for a 7.00pm start. We will be holding a Fans Forum at which our guests will be John Bastian, First Team players and England International Academy players.

The theme for the night is how Squadbuilder is “Investing in Future Success" for Warrington Wolves. The event is free and open to all fans and it will give every one who attends an opportunity to find out how Squadbuilder helps with the development of junior players.

So Lee Briers is a product of Warrington? He was younger when signing for Warrington than Emmit was when leaving Warrington. I also believe Briers had become disillusioned with his treatment at his previous club causing him to want to leave.

I believe Emmit couldn't sign for Saints for 12 months as Warrington had his registration for the length of the contract he had signed with them. I guess he signed for Saints near enough as soon as he could and I will leave it for others to suggest that an illegal approach may have occurred.


(by the way it was myself who pointed all this out about Emmit on the Saints board in relation to the thread claiming Paul Sculthorpe was a product of Oldham!!!!!)

Andrew Dixon was from & still lives in Warrington.

Dixon left Crosfields at under 15s to join Blackbrook and St Helens Scholorship.

Ah yes the power and arrogance of a Super League Club, wave a few pound notes and our lowly juniors will come running...............well maybe not, maybe some of them will appreciate and value the development they have had and remain at Widnes with a better chance of progressing into first team and then playing in SL when we win a licence.

While I'm on can I say all the best to Paul Cullen and his family, they must be having a terrible time at the moment.

Yes they will probably go to wire , so as they can wait in line wasting years waiting to get a chance to play regular first team games, like kev penny, blythe, mitchell, williams, thompson and adam neal...

They won't waste years,we will just put them into our "conference" team at the halton stadium and then call them back when we feel they are ready. HTH.
