This weekends results certainly put a little more clarity on the top four after 23 games. Hull are the only side outside of the current 4 who have any realistic chance of making it, but it is highly unlikely. We could have only 2 points separating 2nd - 4th.

Wigan have the toughest run in, in my opinion with games against Cas, Leeds, Wire and Saints, granted 3 of those are at home.

We are away at Wigan and saints with other games against lower placed sides.

Cas have Wigan and Leeds up next and also still have to go to France.

The race for 2nd is on.

If Hull were to win their remaining 5 games before the split we would need to win 4 or 3 with a better points difference to guarantee 4 home games. Hull’s toughest game will be Saints at home.

There is nothing hard in that run in for Wigan.

With three defeats in their last four games, not one Wigan fan would say there's nothing hard in their run-in towards the super 8s.

If you think Warrington will beat Saints away then you’re at best optimistic and at worst deluded.

History shows that Wire have a greater chance of bearing Saints on their home turf than anywhere else.

It’s a meaningless fact. It doesn’t take into account that Saints are a fair bit better than Warrington which hasn’t been the case for the majority of time since we moved to the new stadium. The only 3 teams who I see as a major threat are Wigan, Hull and Leeds (more likely in the CC final than anything else).

We haven’t been at LP for 12 years, this season is our seventh there. We probably have a winning record at HJ in those six seasons because we’ve turned up on the day. There’s no doubting that generally you have been better than us from 2012-2017. You’re making out as though playing a semi final at LP means that you’re going to win. It doesn’t, we’d be big favourites and it’s unlikely you’d beat us. I’m not sure your record there is as good as you’re making out either, even if it is a winning one.

Isn't this statistically incorrect? Excluding psychological issues, the past cannot influence the future.

The rules goes against the grain slightly...but the home team always has an advantage where the margin between teams are close.
All bookies know this and it's reflected in the early markets.
..however, there seems a psychological difference where Wire have the upper hand away in the Wire vs Saints fixture while Saints have it at the HJ.

I said excluding psychological issues and you then cited psychological issues in your suggested proof.

The problem with someone like Roberts is that the decision was made very quickly, so the realities of a move half way round the world haven't been thought through. Gidley on the other hand probably had a move over here in the back of his mind for a long time, and had thought it through properly (with his family).

i don't think it was made very quickly, though i do think at the time we were being used to improve his contract from the titans, which didn't seem to work so he signed for us, and obviously he ended up back there anyway.

Your whole point was that Warrington win most games at LP. We’ve been at LP since 2012, therefore in this case only games from the 2012 season onwards are relevant. I then responded to your next point that we have a winning record at HJ because we turn up on the day. Think my eyes are fine!
