well extreme reactions require extreme measures at times !
Try replacing it with radio comentary
Better still, learn to control ones own anger and negativity, espescially during a performance and occasion like that.
The sky comentary team 'is what it is' - get over it !

Personally I don't have an issue, I quite like them. I just found your solution a bit strange.
Isn't there a delay of a few seconds, which can make it difficult to listen to radio commentary over Sky coverage?

| I quite like Clarkey myself, yep he is biased toward Wigan but then again he played in a dominant WIGAN team for a long time and was regarded as one of the top forwards of his time.
Think its kinda funny how much stick he gets from us on here and at the games.
His comments do sometimes grate but thats just cause of where he's from and he's proud of it I think.
Cullen as has been said already did the same the other day on BNA dont think he mentioned another clubs players in his dream team comments did he!!
Think everyone just needs to chill and enjoy the fact that we are TOP OF THE LEAGUE in 2011!!!

| I don't know where people keep getting this myth that Eddie is a Warrington fan. Yes, he lives in the town, but he's a St Helens fan.

| I saw on Twitter (don't know how true it is as I didn't hear it) that Clarke slipped up during the commentary of the Wigan v Saints game and came out with:
Quote ="Phil Clarke"We need to starve them of the sight of our tryline'"
Anyone else hear it? Is it true?

Fair do's - I don't have a problem either, just with the same old predictable narrow minded, subjective diatribe that tends to dominate these pages these days.
I couldn't make the hull away game so watched it in the red lion, stocky heath who had radio commentary on instead. seemed in time to me.....after 5-6 pints anyway

| I don't like the Phil Clarke-slating that goes on, but I must admit that today he was guilty of letting his Wigan bias get in the way of his analysis of the match.
Several times in the second half, he jumped all over Eddie and Stevo when they dared suggest that Wigan just weren't upto the job of turning round Saints' lead, even though to most impartial observers, Wigan were badly out of sorts and showing little creation.
It was more the desperation and panic in his voice that gave the game away, and, to be honest, sounded a little sad.
Overall. I don't mind the fellow....He's certainly a sane voice when compared to the nonsense that Eddie & Stevo often come up with, but he just needs to sometimes rein in his affection for Wigan.

| Eddie is a Widnes fan, I well remember a Sky game a good few years back, Widnes vs. Saints, where Eddie was up in arms about a 50/50 call went Saints' way (in fairness, there'd been a few on the trot), and he was quite upset about ... Clarke, Ironically, was telling Eddie to calm down and often "these things balance themselves out", not much later in the game, Widnes were on the receiving end of a highly questionable decision, and Clarke comments (while almost laughing his head off) "There you go Eddie, see? I told you" ... Hemmings himself was laughing in an almost embarrassed way.
I don't see that it's anything to be ashamed of, I don't even mind that Clarke shows a bias towards Wigan when commenting on their matches as such, after all he is a legend of that club from an era when they were completely dominant. What I do object to is when we're watching a game between other clubs and yet he often still manages to start talking about how great Wigan are ... yes it's true, but we're not watching Wigan! *sigh*.

| Very good.
My own two peneth;
He was a great player, who is very knowledgeable about the game. I think he could add a lot to the commentary. Him and Carney could, and should, complement each other. The light-hearted off the cuff comments made by Carney would be the perfect foil for Clarke’s more serious analytical approach.
What riles most fans is(and this is a fact) that whoever is playing he is constantly comparing them to Wigan. That was a bit harsh as it’s probably my primrose and blue specs that make his comments stand out. It’s his tone, his intonation, which he needs to work on. I hope he sorts this out, because if he doesn’t he will continue to irritate a large number of fans. He can’t hide the fact he is Wigan through and through, he should do so IMO. To some he is no more irritating than Stevo and Eddie. These fans though, would take exception to all but their own interpretation and thoughts on the game, and will never be pleased, no matter who has the microphone. Personally, (I know this will be controversial) I quite enjoy the commentary for what it is, and laugh at the appropriate moments.
Clarke and Carney to replace Eddie and Stevo in a few years?

| How about having a three man commentary team each week? Phil Clarke and en ex player from each of the playing teams. EVERYTIME he comes out with his inappropriate Wigan stats the others can simply ask him "What the f...heck thats got to do with the game we're watching?"

| It is funny when Wigan lose seeing his brain fail to function. Cannot compute errors everywhere when his precious Goons are being pasted.
But when they are winning it's sickening. I've never known a TV production to have such bias other than when it's a UK side against some foreigners.

They do, the main game each week is on with Fanzone on Sky Sports Extra.
It would be truly hillarious to listen to.

| Clarkey is legend. You’ll never get shut of him. The rugby gods are on his side.
Seriously though, get over yourselves. I think the sky coverage is hilarious and don’t take it too seriously.
If we meet in the playoffs / GF and you turn us over which you are strong favourites to do, then it will make the victory that little bit sweeter when you watch it back on sky.
For example, last years grand final, the coverage was all set up to be the Kieron Cunningham’s last hurrah. Eddie was gutted when Saints lost, but it just made me laugh when we won.

This ^^
Wanting somebody to be sacked because you don't like them is petty in the extreme. The same sort of people who want players banned when they have a go back at the crowd, despite giving that player stick themselves.

| To be fair, most people want Clarke sacked as a result of him saying Danny McGuire's injury "served him right for cheating". Before then people just complained about the fact he can be a bit annoying, much like they do with Eddie & Stevo & Ray French & so on.
