I expected buderus to be possibly the greatest overseas signing in SL history..... How wrong I was.... He has been a shadow of his former self since that bicep tear before he came over.

| got a couple of decisions wrong early on for both sides, thought he reffed the second half well, keeps the game going for both sides with a biased and vociferous crowd on his back, better than the steve ganson show and a penalty every two minutes.

Funny that, in the past I bemoaned the fact that generally this is the case for the best team in most sports. In RL Leeds, Saints and Wigan, when on top, always got the calls. I remember when it appeared, to my primrose and blue eyes, that Saints were allowed to pass the ball forward.
I've seen a few games this season where we have had the majority of the calls. Not seen too many threads on here complaining about refs. Most threads seem to indicate that the fans don't even care who the ref is.
Long may this continue. Lets have every team in SL complaining about the ref when we play them, tells you something.

| No, he's on about the fact that Ali Lauwhateverhisnameis actually tried to charge the ball down. He'd moved forward a good 20 metres when Hodgson struck the ball. The ref warned him, but as Eddie said, he could have given Brett a second shot.

It did anoy me, the refs can be so pedantic in certain situations, like a quick 20m restart, then ignore other infringements. Once you start letting things like that go you end up with players starting to flout the rules.
What's next? I bet it wont be long before we see a player repeatedly slam the ball into the ground whenever he makes a mistake, and not get punished at all. I remember the days when our sport was respected, was held up as a beacon that all others would aspire to, because this kind of behaviour was not tolerated.

| He was okay, Leeds fans will say he was crap - he wasn't, everything he pinged them for was correct.
It doesn't help that you half expect him to burst into the second verse of 'The Snowman' when you're watching though.

The ball was being passed as he shouted, however it was a bit rough on us as it was the 4th tackle. As a result we had to defend 10 tackles through no fault of our own.
Just read the Yorkshire Post report of the game which is scathing against Mr Child. The only cause for complaint by Leeds that I could see was the Morley tackle on JJB which was high, however the penalty was given to us because of JJB's massive dummy spit.
The Smith/Hodgson thing was just stupidity by Smith. He was tackled 2 metres short and then came so far off the mark that, if he had played the ball, he would have been over the tryline.
Far too many sly digs in the tackle and whinging from Leeds throughout the whole game, nothing to do with Mr Child.

| I have to admit that Childs was poor last night. We won so I haven't got a beef about him, but tbh if we had lost & got the decisions against us that Leeds did I would be mightily upset!

I was wondering that too, because it gave Leeds an advantage. They were given another set from the scrum, so essentially had 9/10 tackles straight. If we are held can we just throw it out and be gifted 6 more tackles?

On commentary, Eddie and Stevo said that the rule has been changed this year. It used to be a penalty to the defence, but a scrum to the attacking team is now awarded. This seemed really unfair, particularly on the fourth as we had to defend almost a full extra set of six through no fault of our own.

| His can't be right... At the time I thought that it must have been on the first tackle that he shouted held... If it was on the 4th tackle surely it should be tackle 4 still when the ball comes out of the scrum.
This would appear to be the most ludicrous rule in rugby league.
