Come on Live Wired, surely you can see the benefit of having Weirdness back in the big time. They have met a criteria which is fit and proper for Superleague. £1m turnover, 2500 avg crowds, recent finals etc. They also have a fit for purpose stadia, and a good youth set up.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Feverstone cannot offer any of those (other than getting to one final).

Plus anyone who names their stadium after that fat pillock doesn't deserve a franchise.

Based on what I've seen of Halifax I think their squad + a few additions would compete in SL. Shame the RFL didn't take rugby ability into the equation.

Could'nt really give a toss what a ground looks like or how many cupcakes are sold at halftime. I only give a toss about the quality of rugby league on offer at the highest level. On last season's performances, the quality was far higher at Halifax, Barrow and Featherstone.

Profit and turnover are two different things. And making a £1Million profit in this league is nothing to s at.

Any business that can return a 40% profit should be lauded. It is even more impressive that Widnes' operating costs are £1.5 million.

I'll cut to the chase - I don't believe that widnes made a profit of £1million, not in any sense that actually matters. That's what I was laughing at.

Just looking at our run in the Championship since 2005, we've done just aswell as Halifax. And the only time someone has had a higher average attendance than us is Castleford.
