to be honest, whatever his wages are, it could be a good negotiating tactic for currie, and anyone else, how much do you want to play with greg inglis? enough to drop a few grand off your wage request?

| You can't fault Wire's management or the willingness to back it up financially by the incredibly supportive duo of Simon and Stuart. Trending No 3 on Twitter this afternoon according to Gareth Walker of The Mirror, not something RL achieves often.

| Astronomical signing that, commercially as well.
Biggest name ever to play in SL? I think so.
Cant wait to see him pull on the P&B.

| Centres - Inglis, King, Gelling, Brand.
Hmmm. (Do we keep all, move King to SR, or end Gellings' time with us?)
Inglis is a brilliant signing, but we do need at least one decent prop - preferably two.
Hill and Cooper need re-inforcements. They are both coming to the end of their careers.
Philbin is good, but we do look semi-naked up front.
The pack wins the match, the backs decide by how much.
Inglis signing is up there with Langer, Davies and Joey and dare I say it - bigger than Moz

| Great PR coup, but I worry that a 33 yrs old crock will stunt a younger player's opportunity.
I hope he's fabulous, and it all works out, but it's not without its issues.

Tell you what, we can play keanan brand again, thats what everyone wanted until he actually played against leeds.
Its only 12 months innit. i can see there being a benefit for brand, king, ashton and thewlis all spending some time with GI, its like joey working with the halves.

| Class signing!! The Yorkshire mafia want the cap reducing then the Wire pull this out of the bag. If he comes over injury free he will tear most super league back lines apart! Hope he teaches Matty Ashton a thing or two aswell. Fans of other teams (Bar the few who have posted honestly) will look for any shred of negativity to rip this signing apart but 1 year? Well worth the risk.

| Regardless of money salary cap etc you cant knock this signing. If he stays fit he will be awesome to watch.
Can't wait for him to come to Wheldon Road and see the luxury we have to offer!

Spot on. If I were a young lad at the club I'd be unbelievably excited at the prospect or playing alongside and learning from one of the greatest players to have ever played the game.
You only have to look at the reaction of the likes of Danny Walker, Matty Ashton and Joe Philbin on Twitter.

| WOW...just wow...its up there with Langer and Johns as a headline grabbing super-story. The media will be all over this especially down under. He'll pay for himself with publicity, shirt sales and extra bums on seats. Can't wait to see him in the P&B. WOW!!!!! I assume he has been medically assessed by Warrington Dr's, so he must be OK to play. Its an incredible coup for the club...congrats to all who got this one over the line..... WOW!

League Freak is famous for his cynicism, but he's very clear about the postives of this move: https://www.podbean.com/site/EpisodeDow ... F2A98X62U2
He also straightens out the 'medical injury' nonsense when Inglis stopped playing for the Rabbitohs.

| I have a bigger smile on my face than when we signed Sandow. I have seen a lot of Inglis over the years and was gutted when he retired early. He is one player who"s highlights reel does not do justice to how good he is. He would be a real handful with the space in super league. It's just a shame that this signing has not come with the sort of fanfare it deserves. It's up there with the John's announcement.

| Greg Inglis & Rugby League is currently trending in the U.K. - Major coup and a genuine shock. Well done to the club for pulling this out the bag.
He’s a great athlete and it’s truly inspiring signing by the club! I wouldn’t worry to much about his fitness hopefully the last 12 months have helped him deal with his injury niggles and freshen his body/mind. I was shocked when he previously retired I thought it was premature even at 32. We obviously won’t be getting a Greg Inglis in his prime but even at 75-50% we will still be getting a high quality Rugby League player.
Interesting point that he was never actually medically retired from the game - he had niggles and struggled for form (see link below) NRL physio has made a few tweets and highlighted a few articles on this, it seems more like he’s rekindled his love for wanting the play the game again and Wire have made him a suitable offer
[urlhttps://twitter.com/nrlphysio/status/1204322534012809217?s=21[/url
I doubt many SL clubs would turn down the opportunity to have Inglis for a season or two. It certainly gives Wire fans and Super league something to look forward to in 2021.

| No doubt fans from other clubs will have their usual laugh if we fail to win anything with him in the side, but the fact is, at this point of time especially, they should be grateful that a club in the league still has the balls and ambition to make signings like this, seeing as presently all the talk seems to be about cost cutting and clubs going bankrupt.
While most clubs will be expecting their fans to pay more money to see a devalued product, Wire have gone out and brought in a genuine great of the game - from a marketing point of view, it's genius.
