What's with the moaning on here again? If you had offered me a cup semi and a point off second at this point at the start of the year, I would have snatchd your hand off. If you had offered it me 12 months ago, I would have had the whole arm.

Speaking on behalf of the moaners, I'd say the cause of any negativity is that through mainly self-imposed errors we disadvantaged ourselves, made heavy weather of it and could quite easily come away empty-handed.

Next week we won't have any margin for error, and don't be fooled by Leeds malaise, we won't in the semi either. It would have been nice to seize an opportunity, build confidence and sprint rather than limp over the line.

In my opinion these round games are all about 2 points, sure it would be nice to have a complete performance every week and ship hardly any points but it has absolutely no bearing on next week or the following week etc. Winning gets momentum that's all, but that momentum ALWAYS gets broken.

We beat Wigan to nil only a couple of weeks after they taught us a lesson with a magnificent performance at magic weekend. We need to finish top 4 to have a chance of winning, for that we need 2 points in as many games as possible so tonight is a good result, we scored a fair few tries, not many kicks were missed (1?) and gained 2 points in a week on our two nearest rivals.

Next week will be a far, far sterner test but being convincing and even winning the week before doesn't mean anything in next week's game. We'll raise our game for saints and it's at their place which is a happy hunting ground. We did what we needed to do this week, we won.

So if Catalan and Wakefield both win this weekend condemning Leeds to middle eights will that make the semi final a much tougher game, how do you see that.

I'm not sure, I don't think I felt we would have been able to concentrate on a cup run when we were in middle 8's. It's an awful situation to be in. Leeds may well be aiming at the cup and they're a dangerous side on their day, but this season us at our best is better than Leeds at their best, doesn't guarantee the result of course.

We may be 7 points away from 5th wren we play the semi whilst Leeds are level points with all their rivals, does that make us more dangerous? A semi final shouldn't be easy but we should feel confident given how far we have come in such a short time, we'll hopefully have a few bodies back too.

SP reckons Westwood back as well. Hopefully Saints rest a few for CC following week but i doubt it. Don't think Holbrook believes in resting players unless injured.
