| Regards getting behind players, no one in any industry is beyond criticism, for 80 minutes i'm behind all 17, when the whistle is blown and the dust settles it's only fair to criticise as much as it is to praise.
Williams awareness and 'perceived' laziness is my bug bear.
He brings nothing to the table for me and i'm as amazed at TS giving him a two year deal as most are. Thankfully it's not as personal for me as it's for you.

| Quote ="WalterWizard"Absolute rubbish that I am the only one defending him. You have your opinion which is up to you but don't come on here saying I am the only one.
What I cannot understand, and this is not just aimed at you, why our own supporters seem to have to make somebody a scapegoat; why not get behind every single player who puts on a primrose and blue shirt?
Thankfully TS disagrees with you otherwise he wouldn't have given him a 2 year deal.'"
Your Rhys Williams and I claim my £5

| I don't think Williams is a scapegoat but I cannot see how he has progressed so far within the club.
He is limited at best.

He is probably rated highly by Warrington as he can squat the heaviest weights in the gym. Maybe he should run backwards instead.

I've heard (off a mate who's a Salford fan) that we approached Cas last Summer about Clark and they turned us down. I've read (think it was in the Daily Express last Summer) that Clark asked to move but Cas said no. And as recently as last week (on this website on a post by Morley's Deckchair) that someone he knows who is a reliable source said we will be trying to sign him for next year.
By no means am I claiming in the know status on any if this, and the sources of info might be a bit dodgy (they could all end up being a coincidence of incorrect rumours) but I think they hold more weight than the Paul Gallan posts on here that we've seen a few times

I'll also do overtime and pay towards his wages if it helps.'"
Rate him then

| "Rumours" about Clark. Well i was on holiday last week and even on the costa blanca it had been "confirmed". Rangi Chase is heading back to St George and Clark is coming to the HJ. Both deals are mainly for cash as Cas are skint and need to offload ASAP.
As regards "scapegoats"....I dont really but into the "its all one players fault" BUT I do think that the ticket paying public have the right to criticise player who play badly. Maybe due to a poor run of form, or due to changes around them, some players will have weeks where they are deemed to playing badly.
A true fan IMHO is not one who 100% backs every player every time, its the fan who can quite openly criticise a player for a poor performance but then come 3pm next Sunday (or whatever time it gets played) is there to stand 100% behind the team.
Personally I dont have less of a problem with a poorly playing player who give 100% of his ability when he pulls on the P&B than i would do with a prima-donna who decide they only want to play when they feel like it.

| When is Lee Mitchell back in the country
Would Warrington really be willing to let O'Brien go if he was involved in a swap deal + Cash for Clark? I thought he was meant to be the next number 6 for wire? If Clark does head to Wire, I really hope we can get someone of the O'Brien mould, a young play maker, who's received some solid coaching. If we just get cash, I think we'll end up pi77ing it up the wall.
As for Williams, He's a decent player, but there's a heck of a difference between a decent player for an average / poor side (us) & team at the top end, Id be surprised if Williams remains with Wire past his current contract.

All IMO, but I would say that GOB is still a work in progress and would not simply walk into Briers's boots atm. So it is possible that the club may do a deal, but in all honesty, what do we know ? I think Williams is on the books as wing cover for the year, and to give him one last chance. I don't think I would disagree with what you say about his contract.
Would Milner fill in for Clarke if you lost him ? He looks a very good prospect. And I am impressed with the number of local lads in your team yesterday, 12 wasn't it ?

He did, but it could be a 1 year contract with an option for the club to extend it for a further year. This is the contract that the youngsters that joined Swinton had.

| Maybe Warrington think that it is the number 9 role needs filling before a replacement for Briers is needed?

Could be. And Ratchford plus Myler could still be an interim solution whilst they look for a half with a strong kicking game.
