| Is Ratchford a better full back too? Id argue yes. Regardless, Tomkins is the best broken field runner in the game, so he has to be in the team somewhere.

Hodgeson is the best kicker so do u go off overall in a position or just pick out one bit of a players ability or is Tompkins inclusion more political ?

| You could argue the same with Atkins. There are arguably better technical centres around, with lower error count but Atkins is devastating ball in hand, and scares opposition defences to death, making his inclusion a no brainer.

| Fantastic player that he is, I don't particularly rate Tomkins as a fullback but then that's because of what I want from a fullback. I want a fullback to be positionally aware, fantastic under the high ball and brave to the point of stupidity as I see him as the last line of defence. Anything he then offers with ball in hand is a bonus. Even now at the back end of his career I would take Hodgson every time, but there's no doubt I would find somewhere to fit Tomkins into any team.

Hodgson for me is the bravest player i've ever seen, if he knew he was going to get seriously hurt stopping a try, i still think he'd make the tackle.
Tomkins for me is a 6, and when Tommy L and Finch leave he'd offer more in the middle than i think Smith and Green will.

Are you adding extra letters into their names on purpose?
As much as I love HODGSON, Sam TOMKINS is the best attacking player in the league and I would have him in our team in a heartbeat.
Agree with others though that his best natural position could be stand-off.

| I know being rested regularly might have harmed his chances but Lee Briers has to be in there for me? I cant believe in his long career he's yet to be named in the Dream team!

Never realised this, and agree it seems a shame for the best stand-off in Super League never to have achieved this accolade.

So basically your saying I'm right Tomkins isn't the best fullback and is basically a number 6 ,
So who in your opinion is the best fullback I have voted for Hodgson the RFL have voted political Tomkins ?

The trouble is, we've all pretty much agreed that Lee has "misused" his career, until Mr Smith arrived.
He's never really been brilliant for a full season, just shown brilliance, sporadically.
Since Smith has entered into Lee's life, he's unfortunately a man who is prone to niggling injuries, and, needs to manage his 33year-old body (iirc) to adopt to the rigours of RL.
The closest to recognition for Lee's form in a season, was Eddie Hemming's BRIERS FOR BRITAIN campaign of a few years back.
