I'll go against the grain and say that he'll sign for an extra year. He obviously wants an improved deal to the one he's on and if we can increase his dosh from £500k to say £600k then I think we'll see him in the P&B again next season.

How could Wigan afford him and stay under the salary cap?

He's already played for one club who had their Grand Final wins stripped because of breaching the salary cap, he can't risk it with Wigan?

I'd be gutted if he left for one of our rivals, but if he goes back to Aus' then I hope he goes on to even greater success than he experienced at the Storm.

Perhaps he ought to sign a 12 month extension on similar terms to his existing contract if only to make up for the first 12 months that he was here

He needs to stay, I know they have child and Australia is attractive and all that, but you can get stuff at Mothercare, just chill Matt - they sell everything.

Think Matt has been a tremendous player & personality at the Wire; but ultimately his career will wind down and this is coinciding with his new child that he admits he wants to raise "back home" in Oz

Took him a while to settle into the club. But it was no coincidence that he started to show his class when a propper coach came in.
