I said that yesterday mainly because his performance was the best for weeks. Looking to impress.

The very best of luck to him it's in Yorkshire so closer to where he lives, which also helps him now he has a young family. It's a long term contract at a club where he's going to be a starter each week.

Not sure that is corrected as a) he was only ever on loan to Warrington and contracted to Leeds and b) one could argue that Wigan are a greater, more prestigous club than Warrington.

Eitherwayup when he flew to Australia full of hope of playing the NRL he would not have dreamt he would be playing for Castleford within 3 years. It's a shame for him.

Mathers was on Warrington's books as a teenager, he signed for us when he was about 13 in 1997 but then ended up signing professionally for Leeds. I remembered the name because there was something in the Warrington Guardian right at the start of the Van de Velde era of us signing up the "outstanding schoolboy fullback Richard Mathers" and I wondered what had happened to him then heard his name at Leeds a few years later.
