If we are indulging in hypotheticals to relieve the boredom of any real rumours, well let me tell you I'd have Sandow back for a short-medium stint like a shot.

I agree he probaby doesn't have the temperament for a full season but if the play offs were imminent and we could move Widdop to FB, Ratch to LF and bring Sandow in that would give us a huge advantage if he was on his game.

The bloke was absolutely unstoppable at one stage.

Yep - something which has been forgotten. Currie from 2015 to 2016 was red hot.

There's a bit of mythology developing about Sandow. He didn't do anything for us that wasn't predictable from looking at his history in the NRL. Talented player who can get red hot and win games, but who struggles to maintain his fitness and focus and when either of those slip he fades away. It was literally what we were talking about when we signed him.

The same would have happened about Appo if we'd let him go instead of Domic when we had to cut someone from the overseas quota at the end of our last year at Wilderspool. People would still today be saying if only we'd held on to Appo we could have dominated SL when we moved in to the HJ.

That’s true. They’ve confirmed him on a loan deal with a couple of Leeds players going the other way.

And people are complaining about King and Gelling at centre. I think that Rhys Evans going to Leeds tells you a lot about lack of quality players available to the English clubs and why some average players have been given longer contracts than might otherwise have been expected.

It highlights the need to identify and develop talent from within the youth system.

For a while now RL has been like an old soldier lurching between first aid posts & looking increasingly likely to be heading towards ICU. Let us hope no one endorses the patient's notes wit "Do not resuscitate ".

I don't think Rhys is a poor signing.
He's a decent enough lad, loyal with good pace from wnich he can step off, and excellent man to man defence.
His unfortunate run of injuries hit his form. Putting your hand up to play with injections and strapping often backfires.

He's no longer SL standard, so congratulations on him for getting a gig at Leeds.

He wasn't...but now he will be.

That illustrates how much that standards in SL are continuing to fall.
The next TV deal is of great concern, as our product is a pale shadow of what it used to be.
