Positive thoughts , I have a few.
1.The reappearance of Kev Penny . He may have lost a yard of pace but is twice the player he was first time around.
2.Sandow looks like he could be a major coup when players start running angles off him and give him space.
3.Russells Cameo stint Changed us as a team and he looked a world beater .
4.Ashton sims. - we need 3 of him.
5.Daryl Clark , He will get better and better and hopefully bring Dwyer along with him
6. Philbin , The Kings , Wilde and Patton all look competent. Although not all at once
And Lastly Chris Hill , Take a bow you're 110% everygame and have been since pulling on the P and B.

In the last few games all of the 50/50 calls have gone against us. In fact even some of the 70/30 calls have gone against us. So, as the law of averages must come into play soon, that's something to be positive about.

At least the next couple of games are free to get into.

We wont play Leeds, Hull KR, Cas or Widnes again this season !!

Even with a very indifferent season we made the top 8 thus securing SL next year
We get to play the pies next week... Good stuff

There is still a very slim chance we could still qualify as I don't see Cas winning anymore games
All depends on Giants and Dragons really and I think the French could do a job on them
We have some real talent coming through
I like many others knew that a lean spell was on the cards losing

It's a positive being able to relax and enjoy the next 5 games knowing we probably won't make top 4 now anyway. Takes the pressure off everyone.

They did the exact same play with George King at Huddersfield. At the time I just assumed it was him playing off the cuff and thought it was hilarious but it appears to be a practiced set play.

Well said. May not be the best team at the moment but we are definitely one of the strongest clubs. Everyone behind the scenes making the right noises with regards to the club's future. A couple of below par seasons doesn't mean it's the end.

We have been battered with injuries this season and a rest plus the incoming players will see a big improvement next season (which, of course will be the year of the Wolfs[sic whether we win anything or not).

your right about there being positives..im not paying out on a trip to wembley or old trafford..think of the money ive saved....

Sims not retaliating to the punch up, thus ensuring we got the penalty (taking note Bennie?)
Sandow's kicking game.
The fact we played crap, but could, but for the post, have won the game, and the mood on here would have been completely different.

I've just walked upstairs after a hard day's work. Susanna Reid has just stepped out of the shower, rivulets of water are cascading down her body....
"Oh, Hi lefty. Hard day? You poor thing. Never mind, eh. I've rung Tayef, and ordered a couple of Lamb Naganzis and keema naans. I've opened you a bottle of that £4 Aussie Shiraz from Lidl. Sky Sports News has been on, and the Waste of Skin has just gone home. I've put "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway on the CD player, and I've got tomorrow off from Good Morning Britain, so the night is ours..........."

I've been fairly negative on here over the last few weeks

but having reflected on things I think we are in a strong position.

Excellent Ground and training facilities
Excellent youth set up
Excellent commercial set up and sponsorship
Experienced coach
Excellent chairman

Our season is over so let's be positive and prepare for next year. 2/3 big hitters and another half back please

We don't have to spend hours listening to the insufferable, repetitive Leeds band or be bored to tears by their unimaginative chants for hours at Wembley with no option of muting.

We aren't alone...Saints fans seem even more depressed!

Once our back line learn what Sandow wants and where he wants them to run we will win the GF.
It cant be a coincidence in losing a half like Briers who organised runners and brought players through the line that we went crap, and now we have another of those creative players so things will perk up once they learn how he wants them to run

I think the injuries we've had have been a major factor in the team's struggles this season, more so than perhaps people realise. It must surely screw up the plans for the season when you have so many long term injuries. Grix (all season), Russell (practically all season), B Evans (ditto), R Evans (all but last few weeks), Laithwaite (since end of June) and Bridge (since June). A few more in there too. Higham's sudden mid-season departure can't have helped either. Provided we have better luck with injuries next season, I'm feeling quite optimistic. Our 17 might look something like this:

With Laithwaite, Atkins, Ormsby, R Evans, England, Wilde, Philbin et al to choose from aswell. Seems to be a little more depth in there than this season. Quality in every position and a bit more size too.

I think last night's losses of our nearest & dearest at Saints & Wigan must be a massive shot in the arm for us. At least we know they can be just as bad as us.

Wigan lost to leeds through mainly not converting their try's, and some dubious calls against them.
If you combine the total of points scored by both pies and leeds, it's still less than the near England v Aus cricket score they put up on us a week earlier. Pies wasn't even close to being as bad as us v Leeds.

Even so,with this new format ,both Saints & Wigan lost 2 valuable league points.
