Mulhern ? His contract expires this year. But I would rate him higher than Bullock. |

Yes I think both Philbin & Bullock can count themselves fortunate based on their contract situation. If I had to keep one of three from Mulhern, Bullock & Philbin, it would be Mulhern on this seasons form. |

I will feel free to see he isn’t even in the top 5 player nominations for player of the year at the Bulldogs by their fans.
Some like him some think he is hopeless.
He certainly was poor vs Wests last week.
One of the top performing props in the NRL is a massive exaggeration and you know it.
He wouldn’t be coming to SL if he were, that’s the only evidence you need to know that. |

In the top 3 metre makers after contact. A LOT of Bulldogs fans want to retain him from what I’ve read, he also played well against Wests so not sure what you were watching there and also the previous week he was very good. |

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but 3yrs for a prop that was unable to establish himself elsewhere ? One year would be an understandable punt, two unfortunate, and 3 downright careless. |

I'm not sure how "bit of an idiot" is helpful in the current environment. Considering the justification for shipping out Mike Cooper is supposedly that Powell is setting down standards that you either fit in or you get out, are we going to be shipping Vaughan out first time he steps out of line? |

Maybe Powell's tactics involve "a bit of an idiot" and he's looked across our current pack and thought they can't offer him what he wants. There may be a controlled aggression element that Powell feels were missing and Vaughan offers over Cooper. A 40 min hard man vs a 70 minute workhorse, compensated by a decent interchange.

Surely our 2023 pack is significantly stronger than our 2022 one (or 2021 come to think of it). Even if one of them doesn't work out, it looks like a proper rugby pack.
I'm still very excited about James Harrison.

That’s how I took it. A bit closer to an enforcer than anything we have currently. And we know he won’t have many chances to get in any barbecue trouble in this country. |

If you want players that get right to the line of acceptable aggression, you have to accept that they'll be times when they stray over it. |
