| Ok. Everyone welcome to a point of view.
But - if Price does go (involuntarily or voluntarily), who would you get to replace him and, more importantly, who is available to come in???
Biggest issue I see with Price is his inability to get the players constantly"up" for what has been written on this forum as the "lesser" teams - Wakefield, Toronto tonight etc.
I repeat - Wire against Saints were outstanding and peaked for this game. Since then, combination of factors has caused a drop off in performances. Is this motivational coaching problem or just lazy, poor attitude players???
I think the latter.

I think this has hit the nail on the head.
KF was telling the media that we compare ourselves to "the biggest sporting brands in the world" he should reflect on who their CEOs are. If a vacancy arose at Manchester United, Chelsea etc to be the CEO and he put his CV in, would he be in with a shout of making the shortlist?
No chance.
He got the job as Warrington Wolves CEO at age 36 or whatever and that just wasn't the right appointment for us given our ambitions. We needed someone with real proven experience of success in a senior business position, ideally senior sporting position.
Other than the excessive bombastic stuff he comes out with, the cliched management speak and the stupid social media wind ups I do like him. When he's on the BBC rugby league show, he comes across well. Rugby league administration has been poor for many years, loads of dry suits with no imagination running the RFL and Super League, it has really lacked someone with ideas and imagination and enthusiasm for the game, and someone who understands it from the players' perspective as well as the fans' perspective. KF ticks all those boxes and so I think his potential to be a big figure in improving the sport is very high and so it was an asset to our club that we had him.
I just think he was overpromoted, getting this job, at that point. I didn't think Roger Draper was that good either. The club had started to tread water after Andy Gatcliffe left.
We needed to get a really significant figure after Draper that would make sure everything at the club went up a notch: the talent identification, the recruitment, the academy, the marketing. Someone who would bring a stamp of excellence to the club, not just talk about 'excellence'. KF could have had a position there too, head of marketing or whatever, but I don't think if your ambitions are to be an elite organisation that you appoint a 36 year old, especially one who has only been working in an off-field role for a few years.
So the problem has been that KF is a bright guy but is over exposed in this role. We're not doing badly, and I actually prefer KF to Draper, he has more drive about him and understands the fans and audience better. But if we want to go from a club competing for 3rd to 5th place, knocked out in the playoffs, to the level of regular winners like Saints, Wigan, Leeds, we need to upgrade things: the recruitment, the Academy, ability to bring top class players through in to the first team, and the obvious place there is to upgrade at the top (keep KF at the club by all means).
Otherwise yeah, we can make Price the sacrifice, change the coach, hope that a new guy will change the situation, like we did with TS a couple of years back, and then in a couple of years time, we'll be having the same conversations.

| Hill coming back next game is a bonus and put's Philbin on the bench which strengthens our bench massively. I thought Widdop had some really nice touches and defends very well. Be good to see this halfback combo when the weather improves and gets warmer with firmer pitches. I'm suprised Akauola didn't play, he would have a field day with some of the tackling from Toronto he would have been making some big tackle busts. The display was odd and disturbing tonight, the start we were very impressive.....even if Widdops try was scored off a mega forward pass ha ha To just suddenly forget how to defend was disturbing and coincided with Philbin and Clark coming off.
Also i nearly forgot, the ref and linesmen tonight were truly Shocking, not even sure who the ref was?

Price was the Messiah after the saints thrashing so some seriously short memories on here.
'"
That is just not true. People were thinking after the Wigan and Saints games that perhaps we had turned a corner from our terrible form and started to have a little optimism. Very different from "messiah".
Wakefield and today just show that we have not turned a corner at all. We are squandering one of the best back lines and spines we have had in years with this turgid play.

| But it's not stopped raining since our much acclaimed half back pairing have played last 2 games.
Get Hill back, dry firm pitches and players having the right attitude and results and, more particularly, performances will follow.
With or without SP though is the question. If with SP and results/performances pick up, will there be so much criticism on this forum? I think not and we call Stains fans - pot kettle black!!

And here we go
1. Time to gel - tick
2. Dry pitches - tick
3. Get all our players back - tick
What are the other bingo phrases we normally get
4. Build momentum / confidence
5. Its not how you start the season
6. Nothing won in February
7. Short turn around
Steve Price is getting [uexactly [/uthe criticism that a coach with an atrocious league form record and performances for the last 6 months deserves.

| Ok. Points noted.
But what is the alternative? Who would replace him?
Incidentally, I was in David Lloyd's earlier this week and the whole squad and coaching staff were having a recovery session from Wakefield game. Relationships between players and coaches and, especially, SP looked really good so no way has he lost the dressing room.
Rather than having an easy pop at the coach and CEO, do we honestly think our squad and players are as good as we believe?
I personally do. Remember are the cups won in February???

| We do bizarre things as a club.
KF as CEO is akin to Chelsea appointing someone like Neil Ruddock as CEO. Simply wouldn't happen
Off season we lost a top draw centre in Goodwin and our response was to bring in a player from the division below, who regardless of any recent transgressions, wasn't even the best player at the club he came from and who are now our offload team. To use the same comparison as above this is a bit like Chelsea losing Eden Hazard and bringing in Stewart Downing.
We also desperately needed a new front line prop but went fishing in the division below for an unproven reserve player. Having realised our mistake we appeared to panic buy a player who has lost his way and his form in Latu. A bit like Chelsea buying someone like Barry Bannan.
I've said it before. Financial power of Chelsea, business acumen and ambition of Newcastle Utd. WWRLFC in rugby League terms

1. Henderson as interim head coach.

Not fishing, it's a reasonable position that achievement in the past gets you an extended credit line.
It's the same reason why Ben Currie gets more time to get back to form than other players would, because he's done things in the past that other players haven't.
Last year's CC was probably the biggest achievement out of the 4, when you consider who we had to beat along the way and the fact we were heavy underdogs in the final.

This, I appreciate that getting a new coach in will be difficult, (especially so since I expect the same debacle as when we appointed price in the first place) but that doesn't mean it isn't the right thing to do.
Regarding the comment about the players displaying a poor attitude and not trying, I don't think that washes, who is responsible for making sure the players display the right attitude if not the head coach?

| Some interesting views on KF as CEO
To get things in perspective it’s a small business so attracting a top CEO would be difficult, but money talks so all things are possible. Plus KF didn’t appoint himself, the board recruited him. Most people would accept a top well paying job but also might worry that they don’t have the experience or credentials to be a success.

| Thinking about last nights game having cooled down a bit and hopefully being little more objective and rational.
As others have stated / suggested if we discount the amazing Wembley win for a minute and look at the league form. His record taking into the account the second half of last season and this is not good enough (abysmal) and some might say of sackable quality.
Is he getting the best out of the resources both on the field and off the field. Most certainly not. Is he improving players? Not much evidence to support this. Does the team offer any king of consistency, I would say not.
Do we wait until the season is completely ruined before the club acts. Probably.
