We’ve been slightly better than them in attack. But they lost Matauita in the warm up and have Sene-Lafao in the centres, so a little less cohesive.

Austin hasn’t done much. Widdop has been all over everything in attack, with Currie and Ratchford . It’s a good job Widdop is in the team as we’d literally have no HB creativity - apart from Austin’s supercharged bombs on the 5th.

Is it worth bringing Dean back alongside Widdop? Austin’s one-on-one defence is probably better but Dean might give us an attacking edge on the right, plus a much better short kicking game.

Really hope Powell doesn't bring Danny Richardson with him

I hope Widdop stays for Powell next year if he’s happy with his off-field affairs. He’s been great this year and doing exactly what we signed him for.

I thought it was looking like a rerun of Monday night but credit where it is due. Ratchford and Widdop were excellent and Austin was a big running threat in the second half.

One thing Powell did well at Cas was improve half backs Defence , Finn, Trueman , Gale but Danny seems to struggle. That said Jessie ain't a centre. He wouldn't be in the 21 with everyone fit. Then you got Mkmeekan killing it for catalan

Sensible team selection - basically the team that finished the Huddersfield game with all players in their correction positions as far as possible. Decent result.

There is nowt so queer as folk. If we had lost so much steam/hot air would have been let off. It says so much.

Decent performance in the end, Widdop looks the player we wanted and Currie was a threat too.

Don’t get me wrong, that Cas team was appalling, especially on the edges, but a similar team dispatched us with ease a few weeks ago, so credit where it’s due.

Strangely for Cas, the makeshift winger (Turner) looked far more accomplished than Olpherts. He’s a strange one Olpherts, real rocks or diamonds player, but today turned in a pretty average game.

Nod in the direction of Hughes, who I have been very critical of. He started the game really well I thought.
