I remember when we were first linked with Steve Price, after the Dean Pay/Garth Brennan links petered out, some people on here were calling him the "Aussie Agar".

Perhaps more an indication of the merits of winning a Challenge Cup, than any proof it makes a quality SUPER LEAGUE winning coach?

I think we need to be a bit more realistic about the current financial state of our game.
We and many other clubs will have to be careful before we start sacking staff (with big pay-offs) and throwing money at other coaches & players.

Agreed. All the more reason to be a little more prudent with our recruitment on the playing staff.

I don't imagine Inglis is coming for pocket money and a chance to sample the delights of the British weather. And don't get me started on however much we're paying Latu.

Even if it was cheap it's still too expensive and a waste of cap space. Regardless of current financial state you have to get the most out of the cap so there is absolutely no point in paying a player you have no intention of playing unless we have a ridiculous list of absentees.

I know some find his eeh-bah-gum moaning a turn off but Powell's tenure at Cas appears to be coming to an end. Perhaps like TS, he has stayed too long and gone stale.

Going from Cas to Wires would be like switching your weekly shop from the food bank to Harrods but he remains something of an unlikeable personality.

I agree which is why a change if coach is the best way of making a big change with only changing one person. If we want different results next season with the same squad near enough we need a new coach?

However I would rather have price for another year if it ment that we get an am established coach, I would like the next one to have a similar signal of intent as the smith announcement did and if it means we have to wait then so be it.

Due to financial restrictions we need to be more patient. We can't be paying out huge amounts of money just to get shut, with no certainty of improvement. I have read comments whereby we need to sack Price, Henderson, Briers, Austin & Widdop and more. Be patient, wait until contracts run out and then assess. Get a grip.

One of the differences between TS and Powell, is TS only looked miserable at the end of his tenure, Powell has always seemed miserable.

All coaches show a reaction sometimes but the sulkiest of all is Adrian Lam. What a dreadful example he gives when the cameras are on him during the game.

Reading between the lines from the analysis from Danny Maguire and Chev walker it sounded like Darryl Powell may be moving on from Cas. Putting 2 and 2 together I reckon the Giants would be a decent fit but if Price is unsuccessful this season would he be worth considering.

12 - 18 months ago I would have been happy with Powell at Wire, however his negative attitude seems to be getting worse and it has to have an affect on the playing group? Maybe a freshen up at this stage would do him some good, but his stock has dropped well below Watson in my eyes.

I was impressed when we signed Henderson as I thought his work at London was excellent. Not sure how much input he is / has given to the current set up or has been allowed to give. Obviously, people at the club will be able to see his input and suitability but for me he could still possibly be an option should we need a coach

Quite a few vacant coaches positions knocking about, Hull FC, Huddersfield and Widnes all have to bring in replacements. Wouldn't surprise me to see Henderson be in the frame for the Widnes job so we could be in the market for a new assistant, Danny Orr?

I don't see Watson or Powell moving just yet, so think Huddersfield and Hull FC will be looking elsewhere.

Someone will call for Frank Endacott next....
