Said at start i'd expect Penny to go back & Picks to stay! Just think Kevin is too good a prospect to let go, whereas Cooper seems to be ahead of Picks in Wire thoughts and add Carvell, Wood & Morley can't see him getting a game in next 2 years or so (Rauhihi retire soon).

Very unslefish of Penny to hand it on to Picks (though it nearly messed it up) obviously a good pal and Picks got great reaction after announced was 1st ever try!

Seem's happy enough, fans like him and is good to see a player of that potential get on the pitch and have a lot less pressure on there back, at the end of the day a player in Penny's posistion will only benefit from 1st team rugby and I have already seen a few improvements in his game since day 1, had a real blinder yesterday and against Halifax aswell!

I think Pickers and Penney were given more love and praise in the club after fax away, in a 30 minute period than they have recieved at wire altogether.

With Pickers i think his serious knee injury set him back slightly and Mike Cooper edged in fornt of him in the first team rekoning...Good to see him getting some game time at Widnes...

Jeeez even I knew quite a fair bit about him, potential, reprutation etc before he joined us!

What did surprise me a bit was when I was coming away from the game I saw a lady and what looked like her son decked out in Wire gear. It looks like with a few Wire lads on loan, we're fair game to come and watch.

I've been and watched when the games haven't clashed. It's nothing new. As I was recently informed the poeple of Liverpool used to watch both Everton and Liverpool depending on who was at home back in the day.

Fair enough mate, but the idea of doing that role reversal would fill me with dread. I suppose it is 'each to their own' though. sad really, as our local 'rivalry' seems to be more in the mould of Stockport County V MUFC or Bury v MUFC etc. ie we are down in the dumps and looking up trying to cling onto any form of dislike we can.

i agree Barrow and Toulouse are next but i think they might balance the Yorkshire /Lancashire clubs up by bringing Widnes in for Cas or Wakefield.
