| Nazis have always been victimised in this way. Read any history book about Kristallnacht, when a load of unruly youths smashed up Jewish businesses and burned synagogues, they always bring up the fact that they were members of the Hitler Youth.
It's all a big agenda of the left to try and make people think that Nazis are bad people who are involved with hate crimes. If a bloke wants to create a nail bomb to kill immigrants then what has that got to do with his political beliefs? 99% of the BNP membership don't want a race war they just want the immigrants to go home without kicking up a fuss, its only if the immigrants want to cause trouble that they will be forced to fight.
I think we should start a movement, "rights for Nazis". Just because you aren't one don't think that it doesn't apply to you.....like the poem goes "first they came for the Nazis, and I did not speak out because I was not a Nazi..." When they come for you, who will be left to speak for you?
The real problem is the current liberal government and their shoddy economic management which has brought our country to its knees, and our army poorly equipped and neglected, we need somebody to bring back strength and pride to Britain and restore our economy and start investing properly in rearming our miltary....IMO the days of the sham democracy are drawing to a close, it is time for a new struggle.

The BBC has no impartiality, they are just anti-Nazis. Remember when a certain country was bombing Gaza, and the Gaza appeal wanted to broadcast their address on the BBC, and a certain country objected because the aid would have been distributed through Hamas. The BBC bosses wouldn't run the appeal. Have you ever thought that this certain country, may have certain influences in the BBC, these influences are also heavily prominent in the City of London and the banking industry, which have been the cause of our catastrophic economic failure. But that section of society, seems to always make money and be well off when the true hard salt of the earth man and woman have their house repossessed? Have you thought of who caused the recession?

I know you are being purposefully provactive Sally but Israel / The Zionist movement has a lot to answer for. I list a few UN resolutions for you below for your delectation. Anyway you have gone O/T the argument was not about Nazi's and Jews it was about the relevance of the reporting. I've lodged a complaint with the BBC and they tell me they will get back to me within 10 days. (if I am black, disabled and a card carry Labour supporter)
[u How Israel sucks but because they are so financially powerful in the US they get away with it and if anyone complains they can always bring up the gas chambers. [/u
Resolution 636: " ... 'deeply regrets' Israeli deportation of Palestinian civilians.

Resolution 673 (24 Oct 1990): " ... 'deplores' Israel's refusal to cooperate with the United Nations.
Resolution 681 (20 Dec 1990): " ... 'deplores' Israel's resumption of the deportation of Palestinians.

| You know how it is with the League of Nations, all talk and no action. They just send that African peace envoy bloke round to tell people to stop fighting like anybody cares what he says.
They sent inspectors round the Ayatollahs' house the other day when they were all doing a bong of shisha, fortunately they had a big persian carpet to shove the enriched U under and they never found the gear.

Maybe, maybe not. However, given the violent history of many of the leading lights of the BNP and its hidden agenda of spreading hatred against other races, then I'm quite happy for the BBC to point out that somebody convicted of this crime was a former member of that nasty party. Anything which undermines the attempts of Nazis to make out they are not really a bunch of racist thugs is fine by me.

I think you are letting your leftist leanings get in the way of balance.
I am not convinced the BNP are at all analogous to the National Socialist German Workers' Party in 1920. That is lazy commentary in my view. Watered down fascists/Mosleyism maybe. In the economic control axis of the political compass they are poles apart from the ideology of the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei.
Like it, or like it not, the BNP are a legitimate political party in the UK with 58 councillors, 2 MEP's and 1 member of the London Assembly. Indeed more councillors than UKIP.
The British public deserve fair, unbiased, reporting. This was not that. I have complained to the BBC, if you are interested I will let you know the response.
In closing, out of interest, what "violent history of many of the leading lights of the BNP" are you aware of?

Anyone who thinks loonies of whatever cast is the solution to problems needs to read their history books.
PS I am an aetheist and near death so obviously dumb.

| The BNP seems to be a party that caters to the disenfranchised white majority because like it or not they are saying things that appeal to quite a few people. The Tories and Labour just seem to hold the working man in contempt which really upsets me. Those less inclined to do a little 'digging' will be attracted to the BNP which would be a shame.
This article does seem to conflict with me, on one hand it plants the seed that the BNP are bad [good point but on the other it doesn't sit well with me that the Beeb (something which i pay towards) is trying to influence the electorate ad point.
People should do their own research and make their own minds up instead of being fed 'four legs good, two legs bad'

UKIP do not have any elected MPs neither do the Green Party.
I am not seeking to defend the Nazi Party whatsoever, I'm just pointing out that comparisons to the BNP and the Nazi party are rediculous in my view.
Anyway I'm with Yed on this one, the beeb got in wrong.

I was using Nazi in the vernacular, not as a precise comparison with the NSDAP. They are a legal political party, yes, but that doesn't mean that links can not be made between their members (current or former) and violence. Fair reporting from the BBC. Violent party - violent ex-member - link made. Fine.
And you know that many of the BNP's leaders are ex-National Front thugs, whether they have criminal convictions or not.

| The Nazi party in Germany was a legal political party which had the democratic support of a substantial amount of German citizens.
As we are all democrats, we should all respect that, if it is the democratic wishes of a population to support a political movement, then that movement is legitimised whatever foreign nations may think of them.
The National Party in South Africa were also a legal political party which had the democratic support of the majority of their eligible voters.
The ANC was an illegal party with a terrorist arm.
So who did the BBC and their do gooders on the left support.....the illegal party with the terrorist arm....

There are a couple of things wrong with this insinuation, though, isn't there, 71?
a) The fact that the fella is/was a member of the BNP is directly linked to the fact that he was planning on blowing up some evil darkies. If someone was planning to plant a nail bomb in Machester City Centre and it turned out he was member of a Political party that was, for example, advocating a unified Ireland free of British rule, then it would be relevant information; his political interests are directly linked to his criminal activities.
b) If the BBC were as far Left-Wing as you suggest, would they not hate New Labour as much as you do?

| No because then they would like New Labour. Hitman is saying that if the BBC were the lefties that Wires71 is trying to make out, they would hate New Labour for being part of the centre-right post-Thatcher consensus.
It always makes me laugh when people make the BBC out to be "left wing". Have you ever tried getting a job with the BBC? Talk about an institution dominated by social privilege. You have to have the right links to get you internships, and the important jobs are all held by people who have been to a handful of universities, Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, LSE, etc. They use licence fee payers money to pay huge salaries to management, including lifestyle perks such as being chauffeur driven around London, staying in top hotels for meetings all on "expenses" outside their salary (which comes out of the licence payers pot). Hardly an institution concerned with radical social change.

| I find it hard to understand that anyone can read a piece on this nutter whether it be written by Shakespear or the Beano and choose to highlight and complain about the inclusion of three letters....!!!!!
the bloke had nail bombs, grenades a booby-trapped cigarette packet, 12 Guns, a Crossbow and a Samurai sword.
this is from the Sun (not something Wires 71 will admit to reading) but
"BNP NUT JAILED" does exactly what it says on the tin thanks very much....

actually maybe Arsenal fans may have grounds for some complaint towards the Sun......

Theer are a couple of things wrong with your post
a) The court heard he was a member of the BNP for 1 year but he was not prosecuted for planning a terrorist attack. Presumably the CPS would have prosecuted even with a grain of evidence. All his convictions relate to being in possession of weapons and documents.
b) Nice article on John Bridcuts report on the BBC. www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/arti ... ng-bias.do
Can I recommend Robin Aitken's (25 years as a BBC journo) book "Taking Sides: Bias at the BBC"

| I dunno....Listening to the beeb's yoof output (Radio 1, 1 extra, BBC 3, etc), it seems to me that you have to be either gay, female, or of ethnic origin to get anywhere in that organisation, certainly fitting the leftie. PC stereotype that some have of the BBC.
May be slightly different at the extreme top end of the Beeb ladder, but its obvious that further down, that jobs are handed out on whether you fit a certain demographic, rather than a person's talent....Witness that talentless bint, Eno What-ever-her name is, trying to do a weather forecast on the North West news....If ever a person got a job becuase she is filling up a quota then there it is.

Look at this right wing journalism from the BBC:
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8469513.stm
Quote Six rugby league players arrested after a woman said she was raped at a Newcastle hotel have been bailed.
The men, from the Huddersfield Giants Super League squad, were staying at the Gosforth Marriott Hotel as part of a pre-season tour. '"
What relevance does the fact that these were Huddersfield Giants rugby league players, have to do with the allegations in question? None. It's part of an agenda by the BBC to try and discredit rugby league because it's a working class sport, and all the Eton and Oxbridge boys who run the BBC are diehard rugby union fans. I hate the way they smugly laugh at our game and try to force their right wing agenda onto working class people and a working class sport.
I shall be writing a letter of complaint to the BBC.

I shall be writing a letter of complaint to the BBC.'"
i see what you're trying to do here sal but the relevance in mentioning Giants is that there are 6 people and they have one thing in common and playing for the Giants is what links them together.
