| Can't have a worst 13 without the laziest bloke ever to wear the P&B imo. Tony Tatupu. Could play the game but just couldn't be ars@d. Fortunately he was only on a one season 'deal'.

| Anyone remember Brian Butler? Awful welsh prop who signed from Bradford, another strong candidate.

He was ona two year deal, thing was, auckland wanted vagana back(understandable, but it was never really clarified why we just let him go) and they took tatupu back as well, as 'payment'.
He was a real bust that fella, it was said at the time Murphy was busting a gut to get Kearney, but signed the wrong player, we made lots of noise over this bloke and even had him hiding out at one point as the warriors were quite keen on keeping hold of him.
He came back a few years later you may recall, and was playing centre for Wakey.

| Didn't remember him playing for Wakefield FMC, just recall him being the worst member of the Kiwi 'invasion' that year. Vagana was a class act but was clearly frustrated and it was no surprise when he left. I went to Aus for the WCC and it was glaringly apparent how divided that side was. The Kiwis were grouped together in the bar at Penrith with the English boys (and Salesi Finau!) on the opposite side of the room. They couldn't have made it more obvious if they'd tried.

He would if he wasn't such a lazy get when he first arrived, used to see him in the village hotel after games having sneaky fags. It used to annoy the hell out of me when we all knew his talent but he and the rest of the team really were not bothered back then.

Used to love watching him and Mateaki Mafi, crap without ball in hand, but my god were they quick!

They were both bobbins. Mafi was personification of the rule that being quick doesn't make you a good winger, whilst Finau's most notable attribute was a silly haircut.

Yes agreed their defence was garbage, however they were unstoppable when in open space.

| Thought an idea to take this in a slightly different direction would be :
The Scapegoats XIII
1. Richie Mathers
2. Chris Riley
3. Matt King (200icon_cool.gif
4. Toa Koe Love(2005-06)
5. Dean Gaskell
6. Gary Hulse
7. Michael Sullivan
8. Paul Rauhihi
9. Matt Rodwell
10. Chris Leikvoll
11. Louis Anderson
12. Mike Wainwright
13. Jon Clark
14. Chris Bridge
15. Warren Stevens
16. Nat Wood
17. Graham Appo
So, its not really anything about my personal opinion of the above players, just the ones who seem to take the brunt of the backlash from fans (on forums such as this).

| Aki's been spotted about a fair bit recently, Warren must be sh*tting himself.
SCS, good list. Sullivan was sh*te though, and don't ever remember Nat Wood being a scapegoat?

Morley (when you look at it, he missed many games)

Phil Blake
Martin Gleeson (just his commitment when Smith arrived, let him down)
Ken Kelly

Cullen, Forster, Hesford, Sanderson
obviously I've missed a few

Can nobody include Domic, Kohe-Love, Burns, and Nat "half-back with an allergy to passing the ball" Wood in any of the above. All v. good players, but not in the categories mentioned above (imo, of course)'"
I'm in agreement with the bulk of this. I'd put Briers in the 'legend' category, and demote Morley to the excellent players list. I'd say you've missed Davidson, Holden, Westwood & Brian Johnson from the latter list. Both Monaghans would merit inclusion too IMO.

Nat Wood got a slating at times for his half back performances but was much better in the latter years at hooker. "Knock-on-wood" anyone?
