| I thought that the Widdop / Austin partnership was beginning to gel nicely.

I don't think Austin is doing better because Widdop is off the field, i think it's just a case of he HAS to step up so has done.
Ratchford deserves a rest and needs to go back to Fullback when he returns, which leaves the problem of what do we do with Ashton?
Ratch is a much better Fullback than Ashton and Mamo and Charnley haven't done anything to just be dropped. I'd keep Mamo in the Squad over him to be honest.

| I'd play the strongest team possible against Catalans, then rest a good number against Salford in the league game.

It’s a very good position to be in if not dilemma, we got basics.lbasically we have plenty of cover.

| Huge dilemma as for me you cannot drop Ashtons pace, Yes Stef is a more rounded FB and can play pretty much anywhere, id rather him at a 13 so we can keep Ashtons pace in the team. Mamo as also been outstanding and for me he cant be dropped either.
Selection headache commence!

| It makes things really easy at the moment because he can, in theory, rest any one from Ratchford, Ashton, Mamo or Charnley. He's also covered for injury. Where we have the least chance to rest / rotate is in the front row because there is a step change without Hill, Cooper or Philbin. Latu, Kibula, Doro and, when he's not missing, Akauola provide cover but non of them can do the minutes.

| Cooper deserves a rest but probably Price feels he needs him against Catalans, wouldn’t be surprised to see him rested against Salford in the League game.

I think virtually a whole team will be rested vs. Salford in the League

| Let's not underestimate Salford.
I'm sure SP won't, and that's why I think he'll rest only a few players for that match (assuming not too many injuries tonight).
Coops deserves a rest, possibly Currie, Austin and King too, although there's an argument to keep Austin playing to develop the relationship with Widdop.
The others have had an enforced rest other the last few weeks or haven't been chosen.

This is where Price will earn his corn. The semi is a vital game but we need to win both the Catalan and Salford league games. It's a very congested fixture list over the next three weeks. If we make the final then it's 6 games in 23 days.

I don’t disagree, but I can’t help thinking Salford will put all their eggs in the CC basket and are therefore liable to rest a few for the League Game

Not a bad idea at all mate, all the Aussies think he'll be a starting prop for New Zealand next year so rotate the bugger now.

When Price throws the shackles off the team (and himself), it shows what we (and him) are capable of.
More of the same, please.

Ashton is quality he's not just a fast prospect, he scored one with another great bit of support play, he laid one on a plate for austin showing great awareness, made a 1 on 1 tackle on folau. He's potentially the real deal.
I really like matt davis, he punches well above his weight, covers a few positions and doesn't seem to make mistakes. Walker is growing on me.

| Another good performance, even though I thought we didn't quite defend as well as we did against Saints. Agree with the comments on Ashton, scored one, made one, and tackled above his weight. He dropped nothing all night too, should have had the MOM.

| Looks like Tom Lineham has done us a favour as having both Ashton and Mamo in the side has given us pace and energy we have not had for a long time. Can’t see how we can possibly leave Ashton out of the side now because, as well as pace, he is brave and his support play is outstanding.
I think King should move to second row now to challenge Ben Currie and Jason Clark who were both below par tonight. Currie needs to be far more aggressive in the tackle.
Need to retain Davis and Mamo and Rob Butler will be a great addition next year.

Exactly, I’m not overly fussed over keeping Sita or Latu for next season, I’d be a lot happier if we kept hold of Mamo and Davis. BBM and possibly Patton are off at the end of the year already. Widdop who knows...

Whilst he may not have been missed in the couple of matches so far, lineham is a brilliant winger, he gets through loads of work with early carries and tackling and knows his way to the try line. It will be good to have him available again after a few weeks rest. For the first time in my lifetime (maybe ever) wire have 4 top quality wing options and 3 of them can cover other positions as well.
Price is going to have a real headache when everybody is available the competition for places is higher than I have ever known due to the performances of every player to pull on a wire Jersey since the restart. At the minute it's harsh on everybody who misses out. The attitude of the players has been spot on, they want the trophies this season and they want to keep their shirts.

| I wouldn't say its harsh on lineham, he's finally got some legit competition for his place, and whilst I love the dozy bugger he'll get a dose of reality that he can't keep doing stupid stuff that gets him suspended.

I agree, that's what I'm saying really it's testament to those in the squad that they would potentially be keeping a player of linehams quality out of the match day squad. By harsh I mean it's harsh on anybody who is missing out at the moment, everybody has performed well. Lineham least of all because the momeny of madness was his own doing.
