That try on the hooter was a blow after a very good first half. Thought Mulhern made a few cracking runs after he came on to get them on the back foot.

Awful game esp compared to yesterday’s.

Going through the motions a bit here, both teams. All about set completion so far this half. Decent defence both teams and a bug improvement from wigan since we last met. Their discipline this half so far is the best I've seen from them for ages. We should win this really.

Well that will do I suppose. Good defence but it wasn't tested as much as it may have been. Hope walker and Philbin are alright, this isn't the stage of the season to lose players to injury.

Currie was brilliant again, thewlis has been great. Hill and Cooper played well, walker looked shattered but was good overall and attacked the gaps well. Longstaff doesn't look like missing a tackle he played well again.

What a strange game. Hardly any penalties or knock-ons. We rarely camped on their line. We could easily have lost it.

Harsh to call the game crap, I said earlier in the week Wigan can’t score but their defence is good which it proved to be.

Agree with this, they will be alright first round of the playoffs with discipline like the second half and respecting the set completion. Pearce Paul continues to look good for them. We got a lucky bounce today really which was the difference. We didn't really need to commit to high risk rugby with the lead. Clean ruck both sides though, slightly slow but I suppose we put that down to good defence whilst it was the same for both sides.

You going for a record on how many times you can change your name Lebron poky etc etc.

That and the fact D.Clark really makes a big difference, we really miss him when he is not playing.

Listened to the two clowns on Radio Manchester & they were more interested in talking to each other the commenting on the game .What i did pick up on was on the day two evenly matched teams & defences controlled the game especially close to both lines. Very tense for what sounded at times like a game of tennis .

I do worry for when Hill & Cooper call it a day.

Games don’t have to be 30-30 to be exciting…that game was end to end with neither team taking a backward step.

Well done to our lads on getting their first win at Newcastle.

Obviously you know I’m slightly biased but what a great display by Josh Thewlis on the big stage, never put a foot wrong and looked confident and assured throughout. Also big mentions to Mike Cooper, Ellis Longstaff and Ben Currie, along with Toby King and Joe Philbin….6 Academy graduates doing the Wire proud

So home game in play offs against anyone from Wigan, Leeds, Cas or HKR win that and it’s a trip to Saints bet Saddened is looking forward to that

I was screaming at the Tele, whenever that Muppet of a Sky director kept cutting to Lam/Price or an action replay of nothing of of any importance, WHILST THE BALL WAS IN PLAY. Pathetic. At least we didn't have to put up with the ramblings of Wells .... every cloud, etc

Agree re Hill Cooper, too, although Mulherne is progressing nicely. Obviously not to their level, but he looks more than capable

Mulhern is turning into what a really good interchange prop should be. Akauola on the other hand, what's the point?

Williams scored off the back of a very good drive by Mulhern, he supported Cooper & Hill very well.
It wasn't a pretty game, but that's third place done and dusted, and it did have the feel of a play off intensity. I'd be happy if we win three games like that once the SL rounds have been completed, and I'll then want to be entertained in 2022.

Good game! Not one for the highlight reel but we turned up and got the job done. Without Clark, which is a huge loss.

I have a chip on my shoulder about not grounding the ball when you’re over the line, I just can’t fathom how Hughes doesn’t wrap that game up.

I reckon he probably did really, ball hit the ground before the line, in all probability it touched a bit of paint before he was rolled and the ball came off the ground.

No conclusive evidence of it being wrong (either way) and it was sent up as no try so can't have an issue with it being disallowed. If I was child I would be sending that up as no try as well, so no problem here.

I think we need to work on support running for the playoffs, you need to make the most of every break when defences are tight like the last couple of matches.

Defences very much on top.. bit of luck for opening try but that's how it goes...cooper brilliant along with walker..now 3rd is wrapped up start resting a few keep em fresh for bigger games to come
