| Looking at our pack for 2015 I am very excited about this coming season, we have so many quality options. I'm not even sure what out 1st choice pack will be, obviously there are some players whose names will be a given such as Hilly, Daryl, Simms, Super Ben, Higham, Grix & Ben H. But in addition to these great players we have Laithwaite, Ben Currie, Ben Evans, Anthony England & Big Roy.
My 1st choice pack when all fit & available would be
Hill, Clark, Simms
Super Ben, Grix
Ben H.
With a bench of Higham, Ben Evans, Big Roy & Ben Currie.

| Reading between the lines of Tonys interview with Warrington Worldwide, Tony speaks about the loss of Woody and he indicates that Laithwaite may move up to the Front Row if needed.

| My personal view is that we need to start the transition of Westwood out of the starting 13, with Laithwaite, Currie or Ben Evans as incumbent.
Benny has been a wonderful servant and from the bench can still offer us fresh impetus and flexibility, but there are increasing signs that his abrasive style is now telling and I think we need to start planning for life without him. In Sims, Grix, Higham, Hill and Harrison we have enough experience and leadership, and I think the starting back row should now be Laithwaite, Evans & Harrison.
Currie needs a big year and offers versatility off the bench and I still think he has the X factor, in terms of skill, that others do not and I can't wait to see Ben Evans continue his progress, as I'm sure he will.

| I would have Big Roy in my starting 17.
Hopefully with a full pre-season he'll continue where he left off....
...being arguably our best forward, albeit for 4/5 games!

Super Ben will be 34 this July and I'm guessing it will be his last or last but 1 season with Us, his contract finishes at the end of this year. But knowing Ben he wont go easily and it wouldn't surprise me to see him have a great season and another contract 12 month contract He could probably do another season after this one in our front row.

Did he never sign that two year extension Rubber Duck was always going on about?

you've been quite vocal about my posts in the past.
why don't you do some searching and shut my "going on" up!
or perhaps I might just be right?!

Me too.
The OP did not include AE in the pack for 2015 - rightly so.
Not good enough for us sorry - a product of the salary cap.

This is a pack with a lot of strength in depth (and young)
Mossop, McIlorum, Crosby
Tomkins, Farrell
O'Loughlin
Patrick, Tautai, Bateman, Clubb
Flower, Greenwood, Sutton
Powell, Tomkins

Lots of depth there which will be handy but I honestly think I'd only take O'Loughlin as a starter for our pack. Farell might be in with a shout too given his pace but Currie is probably quicker. That's not to say it's not a strong pack but I prefer our likely first choice.

| I take Lockers Farrell and Bateman, work could be done on Crosby.
I wouldn't have any of the others.
Lockers would sort out loose issue with Harrison going prop.
Bateman could replace Westwood if we get another season like his last.
Farrell and Laithwaite are great players who could put pressure on Bateman and Sims, yes I'd play Ashton in the 2nd row.
Crosby wouldn't be 1st choice unless I could temper his temper! But with Harrison, Big Roy and Hill he'd add depth.
All Hypothetically of course.

| Saints halfbacks are both class this year and if they keep Walsh fit then they will definitely be up there, I just think their pack isn't as good as ours or Wigans.
Does anybody expect Leeds to challenge at all?

imo they have gone backwards in hb.
I guess we will soon find out.

Never saw enough of either to make an informed comment, but, Burns had a field day against us last year at the HJ so on that evidence not a bad signing IMO.
Regarding our pack, we have decent strength in depth and despite one or two on here having doubts I think England will do more than a decent job for us. He has the physicality just thought he was a bit naïve when he first signed, but, seemed willing to give it a go. I'm not sure he's first 17 if everyone is available, but, if called upon don't think he'll let us down.

Interesting, I thought it was seemingly accepted is was Saints pack that got them over the finish line last year (it certainly wasn't Flanagan at halfback!) and our pack shouldn't be any weaker this year (admittedly less depth) so is surely at least on par?
Leeds will be a challenge in one off matches, but I thinkntheyll struggle to keep the intensity up over the course of the season.
