Looking ahead to the stadium expansion I think this will be good for the club in creating a better atmosphere in the ground with the stadium attached and not divided.

The corner between the East Stand and South Stand should become the new Fletcher St 'corner' where all the shouters, singers and bongo players congregate.

My lot will be relocating from the south stand (near away end) to the new corner of the stadium for sure!

In answer to the question, no. Banning drums from the stadium would be a good start though.

Finally next season I can gesticulate to the away fans without the worry of hitting the unsuspecting bloke stood in front of me thanks to the extra room

It depends if the club recreates the old Fletcher St toilet facilities, where it was a wall to pee up with a blocked gutter and an overflowing flat surface floor.

I found paddling in the fermenting urine of fellow Wire fans at half time really added spice to the mood of the angry fans which contributed to the Fletcher St atmosphere.

You would think that a bigger stadium with more people in it, and two corners filled in, would make for a better atmosphere.

However, providing extra room for people to spread out could make an atmosphere harder to generate.

I think in the long run, provided crowds continue to improve, the atmosphere will get better.

On a related note, the atmosphere would be a lot better if people actually paid attention to the game. Someone above noted the mass of teenagers who turn up and just text/chat etc (and I agree with this), but for the past few home matches I have been stood in front of two middle aged men who do nothing but talk all game and it is really quite annoying.

Indeed Philth. I have a few Leeds supporters amongst my friends (oh, how i laughed....) and they love coming to the HJ. Daughter goes to school in Wigan and her friends (those who like rugby anyway) think that v Warrington is their best game for atmosphere, home and away.
