I'm not really a F1 fan....in my humble opinion, its one of the dullest 'sports' out there, however, I'm curious as to what would make Swiss Lewis any more deserving a champion than the 2 you mention??

From where I'm sitting, and admittedly my knowledge is confined to media soundbites, Hamilton has had most of his career handed to him on a plate...not many guys in their early 20's walk into a position with arguably the best team, with the fastest car??...

C'mon Lewis, stay focussed and take that title...

He didn't just walk into it, he has worked his way up the grades, being very successful and breaking records along the way. Ferrari have had the best cars this season, Hamilton has been the best driver.

So basically you are buying into the hype that Hamilton would be a deserving world champion despite the fact he has raced against possibly the weakest field in the history of F1.

Who was his competition....Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa? Excuse me if I fail to mention them in the same breath as Senna, Prost and Schumacher.

Some of the weekend joyriders round our way could probably push Massa close if they nicked a quick enough car.

Hamilton has been robbed all season with dodgy decisions and cheating coming from the Ferraris, deserves this massively. And to win it on the last corner!

Hamilton for me deserves nothing, i would have been one of the first to congratulate him if he had won like he should have done in the best car in the championship, instead he almost somehow managed to snatch defeat out of the jaws of a win. Take him out of the best car in F1 and how good is he really ? He had to rely on some massive luck to get this title, he almost blew it again like last year in the best car in F1.

Massa for me is the best driver in the championship, put Massa in the McLaren of this year and he would have won the tilte and probably quite easily. He only had to finish 5th and he almost blew that.

The look on Ferrari's faces was fantastic, they celebrated early and then their faces dropped.

I feel pleased for the bloke who has now won £150,000 due to him putting a bet on that Lewis would win the F1 Championship a number of years back.

I've never watched an F1 race in my life but I was completely on the edge of my seat watching that! Amazing! Nice one Lewis
