Fans getting giddy early on about Hudds and Catalans and it turns out being the same two as usual.

This constantly resting players thing seems to be working so far. I must admit I was a bit concerned when I saw the selection today though. Second in the league, just one point behind the Pies.

Catalan will overtake us if they win their game in hand.

I doubt we'll ever have a fully fit squad - there will always be someone injured given the nature of the game.
The thing that has impressed me has been how the club have developed the youngsters over the last few years and now they're really pushing for places - be it Currie, Dwyer, Evans or Williams.
TS's 'rotation' policy works because of the strength in depth but he doesn't underestimate the opposition.
He has confidence that whatever team he puts out can win, so with all due respect to Wakey, the team for them is/was different to the team for Catalan.
It's a particular benefit for the ''older players'' who get much needed rest.
It's a difficult blance but he seems to manage it.

But I do worry about the strength of the teams in this league and the comp as a whole. Its becoming very predictable and somewhat boring.

The RFL need to ditch the license system and possibly change how the cap works because they are clearly not working.

I don't worry we used to lose at Wakey and other places where people thought we should win....Now we win there...

Just seen on the club website that the first sixteen fans to text in get to play Widnes next week, alongside Benny Westwood.

Thats rubbish, I know for a fact that Benny is rested next week.

Without the license system every club in the bottom half of the table would be packed with geriatric ex-NRL players on unaffordable wages in desperate struggles to stay in SL.

Back to normal I see, Colin. One positive post in 315, then it's back to normal. It's only 3 years ago that we were getting hammered on a regular basis at Wakefield. I wonder what little gems you would have posted if we had lost today.

The last time we lost at Wakefield was on 27/02/09.
It was also the last game for James Lowes.(Thankfully)

There is one signing that I really really really want and that is for TS to sign a contract extension.

Another advantage of being able to rotate & shuffle the squad is that opposing coaches can't possibly coach against all the team permutations that can be thrown at them...it disrupts their game plans . I am pleased that the lads were finding their way to the line without Briers's chip kicks to the corner.

It was somewhat amusing that in the pre-match interview with Mathers on the radio, he said something along the lines of, 'We know that if we stop Lee Briers, we've got a good chance of getting a result.'
