So far so good from Mata’utia he looks a lot more solid defensively then Mamo I’d say. As long as he keeps coming in looking for work, eating up the meters and provides a good threat going forward I think we’ve made a good acquisition.

He might not score as many as Mamo or catch the eye as much as Mamo did last year but I think overall we may have a better player.

The right side along with Williams and Charnley has started pretty well. I’m expecting more from Holmes when he’s settled into the side.

you know, watching the toulouse highlights, that right side seems to be clicking, williams and ratchford, the defences so far are respecting and hesitant when williams runs, and as wellsy mentioned on sky last week, everyone else is running the right lines to get the 3 on 2.

The common complaint last year from the usual suspects re ratch was his lack of assists, wouldn't surprise me if he's got as many this year as he did last year already, or at least on his way.

In the first game, the left edge also looked pretty handy. Shame that the rustiness blew a few chances down that side. Wrench and Ashton are the two fastest players at the club, and add in Currie and Widdop that’s a lot of attacking threat available.

King has shown on his return that’s he’s still pretty handy too. It’s nice to finally have some options in most positions. Just need to step up a gear and get some consistency.

His back of the hand pass for Charnley's 2nd try showed great skills. Charnley will score a bucket load outside a good centre - he always has done.

That was pleasing to see, was a very silky bit of skill with limited space. Charnley must be loving it compared to last year, when the only time he got the ball on his hands was on the 1st/2nd tackle out of our own 20 meter line.



Re:FMC comments, agreed Ratch is looking like his old-self under Powelly, pleasing to see. MOTM in the first game and a good few assists already after 3 games, only issue is that he’s no spring chicken!
