It will be very difficult to get out of the bottom 4. Even when you start winning games you'll find the teams above you will also win.

Assuming Widnes are definitely going to be in bottom 4 you will still need to overhaul 3 other sides.. The obvious targets would be Wakefield Huddersfield Salford or Leigh but they're all doing reasonably well at the moment and picking up points.
Even if you get out of bottom 4 at best you'd get 7 or 8 but it would be difficult to catch the fourth place team with only 7 games to play and most of them away from home.

Time for Smith to look to the future and make some brave decisions.

Brown back on loan to Widnes. Looked good in a poor Widnes team but not good enough

Gidley on plane home or on coaching staff. Been an excellent player in his day but an also ran now

Patton and Ratchford in the Halves.

Russell to full back.......one of the best kick returners.
