Quote="ninearches"Is it a telling factor that 3 teams who are trying to go down the youth route ,us ,Saints & Wigan have been beaten by opponents made up mostly of older ,more experienced & bulked up players ? It doesn't say a lot for the youth development structure within the game if these lads are the best on offer & the situation isn't helped by the removal of the academy tier with the expectation of 19 year old kids to all be ready to join open age players who have more size ,nouse & experience. Obviously certain teams are having to carry the can in promoting youth for the future greater good of the game but it sure aint working in terms of providing a competitive superleague.'"
Even though the three teams you mentioned along with Leeds have won nearly all the trophies on offer over the last 5 years, or are you just referring to youth development against this weekend only?? Get a grip we are having a bad time but to question the youth development structure!!'"
Yes i am questioning the youth development programme throughout the RFL .There are not enough young quality players coming through to produce the experienced players of the future. Neither Saints or Wigan are what they were & Leeds will probably have problems when Sinfield, Burrow & McGuire hang up their boots.
I'll be the only one still hanging on here at this rate.
We made strides today I thought, we crossed the line 3 more times than they did, just had them scrubbed out, one for a forward pass that Cas got away with down the other end, with a bit more luck we would have won. Myler coming back in showed a marked improvement with our attack, he was there to hit the holes left when we offloaded and we made our way up field, it's our last 10 attack that needs fixing, I don't remember us once putting it up in the corner for Joel, why not? We're down on confidence and need to come out on Saturday with some aggression, take no prisoners and pummel Wakie with no mercy.
Bridge is still injured and needs some time to get right, any word on when Grix is back? He could fill in.
