Takes me back to the time, probably before you were born when Mike Shoebottom scored a try at Headingley and Salford's Colin Dixon attempted to jump over him and kicked him in the head leaving Shoebottom permanently disabled...Only Dixon will ever know if it was accidental...The same thing could have easily happened to Monaghan on Friday night.

Colin Dixon would have eaten Ablett for breakfast. In an era of hit men he was as good or as bad as any of them depending on your point of view. IMO I doubt if anything he did was accidental. I remember him pile driving Jim Challinor head first into the ground deliberately injuring him and, on another occasion deliberately stamping on John Bevan's ankle
whilst he was on the floor under a pile of bodies having just been tackled. One of the most malicious players I ever saw.
