Brett Hodgson has had a lot of niggling injuries in recent times which is bound to have effected his form, anyway onto the question from the O/P.

They are 2 totally different players and both contribute in different ways.

Brett Hodgson is a great organiser, passer and he reads the game very well.

Sam Tomkins is the most dangerous broken field runner in our game, give him half a gap and he's gone.

Brett Hodgson would be better compared to Brent Webb as they both do very similar roles and play a similar type of game.

But he plays in the same team as Cameron Smith. I bet he could kick goals (as well as resolve world financial crisis, bring peace to the middle east and calm down Joey Barton), it's just that nobody has asked him to.

As far as I'm aware Tomkins has more assists than tries so far this season and yet people make out like he doesn't have a great passing game. His killer pass and all round passing are fantastic as well as his running skills.

Hodgson was a great great player and still is a very good player.

If you asked me now, I'd take Tomkins, but if it was Hodgson in his prime vs Sam now, then Hodgson.

I've seen Hodgson in his prime, and I'd take Tomkins every time.

Both are very good players and Tomkins could become a great.

I really hope he doesn't go to Yawnion but if they offer him a mountain of cash and chance to play in front of 80k blazer badged toffs, I think he will go
