Quote ="Wilderspool memories"I said "okay" and took my ticket for the crusaders game which had printed on it an adult admission price of £10 instead of the usual £17 for home matches. I went home and worked out that my early bird season ticket price of £171 means I pay just over £13 for every home game. Now I am not against the club trying to attract new fans by offering discounted tickets for matches where they feel there won't be much away support(quins, crusaders, catalan)and also trying to boost attendances for these fixtures but should it be done at the expense of someone who coughs up their hard earned in advance every year? If as i expect the catalan game is also one where discounted tickets are offered then that will probably mean any early bird offer for season ticket holders is now worthless as cheaper tickets are available leading up to the game in question. So,is it really worth buying a season ticket next year? Opinions please!'"
Depends on how many games you are going to. On current prices, if you assume the club does 2 games at a discounted price of £10 (which is assuming the Catalans one will be at the same price) then if you go to all the games you'll pay 11 at £17 and 2 at £10 = £207
The break even point is going to 11 games, 9 full price and 2 discounts, which means you will spend £173
If you are going to 10 games or fewer then cheaper to pay on the day.
However if we're drawn at home in the 4th round of the Challenge Cup and you want to go to that one then thats another free game if you have a season ticket, so if you bank on going to that then the break even point in SL is going to 10 games (7 full price and 2 discounts).
Factor in as well there's a 50% discount on Magic Weekend and discount on the replica shirt, shop merchandise etc, if you are going to be spending on the above then you will end up spending a lot more if you don't have a season ticket.
However if you just want to go to home games and won't go every week then if you are missing any more than 2 of the full price games then don't get a season ticket.
