| Okay, I'll start.
Poor game by two poor teams.
O'Brien: 7- Played well and added an X factor to our play in attack, caught some decent bombs as well.
Carney: 7- Worked hard and did some serious hard yards
Sau: 7- If he score its a whole different game and I fancied us.
Jones:7- Did okay made some half breaks and was alway keen to offload
Griffin: 7- Dealt with Bombs well and looked good in attack, definately a winger and not a centre.
Wood: 5- I hate doing this as hes only a baby, but first half was a passenger and didn't get involed. Also messed up for 1st try. Looked better as interchange hooker. Probably best way to ease him into the team
Dobson: 8- MOM, everything went through him, but lacked pace when needed
Griffin:7- Did a lot of work and tried
Tomkins: 6- Very average today, never got us on the front foot. Did a lot of tacking though
Foster: 5- Looked off the pace and made too many errors
Sarsfield: 6- At fault for 2nd try and struggled defensively again. However he did run some good lines outwide.
BMM: 4- My biggest gripe of the day, totally missed the 1st half and took it up once and knocked on leading to wakey try. 2nd half got moved inside for defence and when we did hit him out wide he broke the line. He just didn't go looking for work. So annoying as he is our X factor player whom we need to utilise better, Lui seems to be the man to do this. Totally disagree about moving him inside, we need to adapt our play and use him more effectively.
Flanagen: 6- Tackled, thats about it
A Walne: 7- Got stuck in and ran hard
J Walne: 6 - Did okay, nothing special
Krasniqi: 6- Same as above
Evald: 6- Needs to start for Wood against leeds and move Wood to Hooker
Sorry its a bit negative, but we looked a million miles from the team that played a month agao, injuries keep piling up as well. I now understand why everone says we miss Lui, our starting 13 look good, but the squad isn't.

| And with regards to being a Solly, fan. Could you imagine if we won all the time? It makes the wins sweeter!! Were not a million miles off and are in part 1 of 3 with regards to building a trophy winning squad. We have our deficiencies but its a marked improvement.

| And finally I have to say credit to Wakey, they looked workman like. But Jowitt and Johnstone looked really good. Hoping Johnstone can put some timber on as having a winger who can step off both feet with that pace and height is very exciting fom an England POV

| =#FF0000Hello Vastman. You are quite long enough in the tooth on these forums to know what I mean when I hand out a general warning, with a specific note to cut the name calling. I don't care how light "wally" is, but you'll abide by the rules just like everyone else will be expected to.
I will also not be doing loads of warnings or spending hours of my time editing people's posts, so make your decision soon.

| With 20 mins to go Dobson really took the game by the scruff of the neck ... I was genuinely worried at that point.
Could have gone either way.
He was easily your MoM.

| I think the game turned when Sa'u tried to keep the ball in play near the Wakey line, if he'd just died near the line I reckon Salford would probably have scored from that set. But when you're going for the line & glory is in sight, it's small margins.

| Poor match from both teams,
Both teams were out of there game plan after about 30 mins, 3 GAMES IN 7.8..9 Days is too much on all all teams not just Salford, player welfare has to be thought about.
It is about time 2 games over the Easter weekend was binned, i would rather see 1 game over Easter , then 2 fit teams playing the following week rather than 2 teams just turning up trying to play a game, with players getting injured all over the pitch with fatigue . pulled muscles etc not good for the game and def not good for the player of the team.
In Aus there is a player and team revolt of having to play 2 games within 5 days never mind 3 games in 7plus days it is wrong.
Not good for the fans who pay good money to watch.
As for today's match well done to wakey they came through it better than us.

It's never the best game when your team loses is it?
We took 10 to the game today, 4 of which were neutrals and they thought it was very entertaining end to end stuff with some big hits in defence as well as some very good tries.
Johnstone is 6 foot 1 inch tall and looks about 14 stone so is already bigger than what Jason Robinson was in his hey day playing internationals. It's his blistering pace, positive attitude and deceptive strength that Johnstone already has in abundance not sure he needs to beef up like the Salford backs. His third try involved him running over the top of one of your backs...may be they need to do some strength and conditioning as well as tackle bag work?
It's this pace and determination that's essential which is also why BJB got back to Junior Sau to prevent his try in the corner...some of your backs looked like they need to focus less on the weights and more work on trying to improve their pace.

Unfortunately out 2 real speedsters are injured, one from an intentional foul tackle last weekend that seems to have been given the blessing of the RFL.

| Our defence is a concern. 44 at HKR, 42 at Hull and 32 at Wakey who let's face it didn't have to play brilliant rugby to amass their total. We struggle to prevent teams from scoring once they are in our 20 and that is a worry.

| Has the Sheens affect, petered out.Or did it never materialise in the first place.
Why don't we just accept we are only a bottom four side with this squad of players. Also I don't think Watson is the answer,as a the coach.

Fair comments Red Eyes. Its obvious to see that on the pitch we're no better under IW & TS than under Iestyn Harris. There maybe wholesale protocol changes within the setup but can we honestly say the product is any better i honestly can't see any improvement regardless of the club trumpeting that the squad is a close nit group, it surely doesn't look like they are to me. I've witnessed snippets of comradery this season when things are going well however true comradery is tested when things aren't going well when the comradery switches to resilience mode which is an obvious absentee. I've said from day one IW is not the answer to our Club, I believe he should be involved within the setup at some capacity but for me his appointment was far to premature. Sheens has got a lot on his plate so an experienced coach should of been appointed, however only time will tell to see whether Sheens's decision to appoint IW is fruitful or not, but under current performances looks all to familiar like Dejapoo to me.

| Sad to say I agree about Watson, for me we should bite the bullet and go for one of the high quality Ozzie coaches currently without a job, Geoff Toovey or Ivan Cleary spring to mind.

| John Cartwright would be my choice however he's No2 under Trent Barrett at Manly at the minute which would hinder a move to here. Its crazy to believe how being a No2 in the NRL is a more tastier catch than being a No1 over here.

Everything is superior over there, the lifestyle, players and probably money.
I think Dobson was your best player, however you are a much better team with Lui in your side. I think your number 22 (Sarsfield?) needs to be a little bit cautious of hitting the back of players knee saw one or two and thankfully no injury. I think both teams were physically tired from a busy easter thus the poor quality of game. Wish you best of luck for rest of season, apart from when we play you at yours.

The very worrying signs what makes me cringe is Wakefield didn't have to play well to score 32 points it was a walk in the park. Blaming fatigue is a poor excuse which seems to be condoned as we were woeful against Catalans and there was no fatigue factor in that encounter.. Its as though the three fixtures in this period are excusable if we lose a couple of matches due to the fatigue factor which is a sad state of affairs when you'd consider Catalans at home Huddersfield and Wakefield away would of been marked on the fixture list at the start of the season as must win games You can't blame it solely on fatigue when desire is observably found wanting.

| Lethargic and laboured. Poor start set the tone for the rest of the match and general sloppiness didn't help. Heavy pitch turned it into a position and possession match witch Wakey played better than us. Fatigue and desire go hand-in-hand, and while both teams suffered the same on that score, Wakey had the better attitude. It's not the end of the world, like some seem to suggest, just got to hope that the wrongs are addressed this week and a better performance shown next week.

| We should definitely give more time to Watson, he's passionate and seems to be working well with Tim Sheens. The drop in form has been due to the loss of key players such as Robert Lui and Tommy Lee. Yes we lost to a virtually full strength Wakefield team but we played them at the wrong time just coming off two wins after the appointment of a new coach. Don't forget we had injuries to 6/7 key players and there is no doubt we will give them a battering at the AJ Bell.
Considering we are spending well below the cap I think we are doing ok, the aim at the start of the season was to only do better than we did last season where we only won 8 games. We've already won half of that amount and only need another 4 wins in 13 games to achieve that goal.
Looking to the next 1/2 years where we will spending full cap and will probably see the inclusion of a marquee player the future looks very bright indeed. Another positive is the strength in the backroom we have now and also the amount of time that is being put into our academy which has previously been neglected.
Keep supporting the lads, a loss at an in-form Wakefield with half a squad isn't the end of the world. A win against the champions next week and things will look a whole lot different we just need to keep believing in ourselves. This young and hungry squad is capable of a lot go forward. Keep the faith!

| A friend, who now normally does not watch Rugby League but made an exception for this game, caught me on my way into work with some very pertinent criticisms of our plays: usually the direction of a run by a player. When tired, it's easy to lose concentration and not see where the opposition is off balance. Wakefield TW seemed to do better in this than we did.
Before we hang the coach or bemoan the results, let's look at the games: with the exception of Hull (away) (which I missed) and Cats (home) we have either delivered or come close to delivering with a young and new side. This team is one for the future: some players are showing they want to be part of that future and (inevitably) some are failing or need more input from the coaching team. So losing a game that depended on emotional maturity on a heavy pitch against a very confident home side is disappointing but not the end of the season. We have yet to see some of the players not picked as yet.
