I think it would be helpful to all concerned if the club informed supporters about injury news/selection decisions on the clubs website. It's non existant and it just encourages rumours about players starting and spreading on social media. I appreciate the club may not want to make it public knowledge if a player is dropped but they could just give another reason.

For instance - I don't know why BJB isn't playing now and there was a rumour on the Hull forum recently saying he's signing for them in 2016. If there is no truth in this, it would be good to know because after all the negative news lately this lack of thought just creates more.

I'd imagine BJB is suffering from the fallout of Theo's situation, where Iestyn is trying to keep Theo as Dobbo's half back partner and Rangi at FB.
There's no way Niall will be dropped from the 17, he is cover for FB & wing, same as BJB - got to keep the academy produced players happiest

I appreciate this but it still doesn't explain why MCB is now ahead of BJB in the pecking order. Furthermore what is the point accommodating Theo (by moving an international halfback to fullback) if he isn't prepared to show his commitment to the club by signing a new contract? I know the club want him to change his mind but surely some kind of deadline needs to be set. All this will achieve is unsettling Niall Evalds who has hardly put a foot wrong this year.

Id like to see both happy and wanting to stay at the club being up coming future stars, but if it meant upsetting one over the other for selection then it wouldn't be Nial.

For me if fit tomorrow BJB must play, Josh Mantalato is massive and will climb all over Caton Brown.

Said it long before he signed for KR but he is someone we should have looked at bringing over.

Maybe MCB is training better.
Maybe BJB has a knock.
Maybe BJB isn't 100% fit.
Maybe Harris wants to give MCB an extended run out.
Maybe it's just a rotational thing.

There's lots of reasons why he may or may not be picked. Pointless speculating, or at least pointless highlighting one reason without due consideration to others. Leave the solely negative posts to Mario/Neil. At least then we know what to expect when you see the Italian plumber pop up.

I don't think it's unreasonable Butcher as a supporter to want to know the selection availability of star players. This area of communication between club and supporters is I believe something that could be improved upon very easily. The problem is if people ask questions and don't get answers or the information isn't made available it's natural for people to read more into the rumours. I don't consider this subject to be negative, I see it more as constructive feedback for the club.

We get as much information as any other Club.

If a player was unsettled at a Club would it be fair to him if the Club said his selection was due to him being unhappy? Or if a player was going through personal problems, the Club making it known to fans because for some reason we should know all the reasons why someone isn't selected?

The fact is, regardless of information, fans speculate. I personally think that 'fans' should keep their feet on the ground and remember it's fine to discuss anything between fans, but demanding that we should know the ins-and-outs of every little decision requires a more level-head than most fans are capable of. Are we not always blasting the Club for dubious professionalism? Yet you're saying that the Club should spew its inner workings and decisions for all and sundry? We're fans, but don't let that fool you into thinking we need to know the minutiae of every decision.

Actually TRS I think moving Rangi to FB was possibly a special IH/RC plan to create more with Rangi joining the line & weaving his magic - around the middle of the park. It seemed to be working well to be honest until injuries forced a re-think.

Niall - great player - but hes not in the Chase mould for creation .....just yet.

I'm not saying that at all Butcher. Just some injury updates would be a great. For instance when Dobson picked up the injury at Leigh we hadn't got a clue for weeks when his expected return date was. You say all clubs are the same but this isn't exactly true. I can recall the Wigan Warriors website showing an injury status with expected return dates against these players.

Absolutely correct,it's a forum so let's speculate.
If we speculate that BJB is injured then it's discussion over,but the club could simply say he's not fit,without exposing us to their inner workings.
If that speculation is wrong then he's being left out. Let's speculate why. Does the club know he wants out. No idea. Let's assume not. Then he's dropped on his form which seems bizarre.
If I might be allowed to speculate, it's possible that he's fit but being left out so as to accommodate Theo,Chase,Dobson and Evalds. In practice that means he's actually being left out to accommodate Theo which is fine if there's a chance that Theo might stay.
Evalds and Rangi being played out of position will cheer them up no end.

If so is there must be a transfer fee because didn't he sign a 3 year contract? Unless the club just want to get him off the wage bill. All speculation and hypothetical I know until we hear otherwise.

If you were referring to an injury status, then I take back what I said. An injury status would be useful for fans.

It's easy to read too much into someones posts sometimes.

I assure you I wasn't having a dig at the club. I just thought it may be useful feedback for anyone at the club who may be reading.

I don't see a problem with not publishing detailed injury news. Do you want the opposition to know who they need to prepare to face or do you want to keep them guessing? I'm not saying that's what we are doing, but I'd think that would be a fairly reasonable way to play it.

I fully understand what you are saying but the club don't have to be overly specific with return dates. 4-5 weeks, 6-8 weeks and not naming a returning player until they legally have to would suffice.
