Is anyone confident for Fridays game? If we start of like we did in the first 20 minutes against Wakefield then i fear for us. After losing badly last week Castleford will be up for this. If we don't give away to many penalties and defend well then i think we can win. I've been really impressed with our attacking though since the Hull game, think its 94 points in 3 games. Hope Paterson available though as he proved against Catalans he can be a handful. Dont care for the score just the two points.

We've given away more penatlies than anyone else this season, if we don't give many away this week I'll be shocked. On the bright side, Cas have given away more than anyone but us!

The game could go either way, 2 unpredictable teams. We seem to be a little more consistent lately but surely Cas will be fired up for this after Hudds. The Jungle is never an easy ground to go to either, the home fans always create a great atmosphere their team.

I wonder which one (if not both) of Chase and Hauraki will get sin binned, I'd guess that Cas will target both of them for special attention as they have fiery tempers and together they seem to feed of each other.

I think Cas will win this one. A few extra rest days off the back of a poor performance they'll want to rectify. Rangi. Koukash. Recent enmity between the Clubs. They are pretty much our bogey team in the modern era too. We can win it if we play like we can, but I've yet to see a complete performance for 80 mins in the last two seasons. If Paterson is back and on Carney's side we may have a chance.

I won't be disappointed if Junior is on Carney's side again, they had some brutal hits last year and I tihnk Junior may feel like he owes Carney a little something...

True, but only 4 more than Cas so not a lot in it. I expect us to lose too sadly. I think the extra rest will see Cas through.

I know they have had a extra few days rest but Castleford were awful against Huddersfield and I believe they may be going through 2nd season syndrome.

Who knows what Castleford will turn up on Friday night the team that wants to win it the most will take the points.

Hopefully we can send Sheen back to Australia with 7 points from a possible 8.

This will be a tough game......Cas away is never an easy place to go to plus they'll be on a mission after last weeks disappointment. For me this is the toughest game of the season.

It's impossible to predict the outcome of tonight's game. We could smash them or get smashed. I'm guessing the latter, but I hope I'm proved wrong.

Well last season we were a gnats didger from winning @ The Jungle.

We are surely far stronger than last year with Locke, Hauraki, Taylor, Patterson, BJB etc

Cas have lost Huby, Sneyd, Hauraki & possibly Shenton & Lynch for this match.

Salford are plus 6.5 with sportingbet and surely worth a punt.

Will take a defeat tonight if we beat Widnes the following week. That is the game where hopefully the armchair fans will sit up and take notice with it being on TV.

True, however I don't think it is the must win game some people are making out. A defeat tonight will largely go un noticed by the wider Salford public (unless koukash goes into another meltdown). Lose against Widnes though on sky and the same old Salford jibes will be out in force.

Some people are indicating that this is not a `must win game` which in some respect is true, however if we are to motivate the fans, get a top 4 spot and really make a statement to the rest of the teams in superleague, then these are the games we should win and really need to win in order to make positive steps forward etc. This is a massive game, as are all the others as consistency is the way forward. In reality the only poor game, was obviously the Saints game, but things are looking up. It`s never easy going to Cas and as there win against Wigan shows, tonights game will not be easy. We then have some tough games coming up over Easter weekend, so hopefully we can win tonight and go for a top 4 spot. COME ON YOU REDS.

I'm following the match on Twitter tonight. I was wondering if there has been a long stoppage because the Wheeldon try just before half-time was scored 47 minutes after Salford Red Devils posted that the game had started. I also noticed the Leeds v Wigan game started several minutes after and finished for half-time 2-3 minutes before despite having video replays.
A long stoppage would explain it but I'm just curious because we lost their last year to an 88th minute try.

I can also accept defeat but if we're going to make the 8 we need to eradicate all the errors and poor discipline when put under pressure. The one thing that's surprised me so far this year is our weak defence. Last year Harris made noticeable improvements in this area but for some reason we have gone backwards. I would never have expected us to have the worse defence in Superleague after 6 rounds. Anyway it's history now and it's not my problem, let's see what Thursday brings?
