| If both are 100% fit, locke has to play full back.

| Locke @ full back and Evalds on the wing, for all Greg Johnson has pace for me he doesn't score enough, Evalds seems to have that knack of getting over the line.

| Yeah Locke for me but he has to be 100% fit. Evalds will be our full back for years to come reminds me of an Escare/Shaul type of player!
MR - I think Johnson will break his duck this weekend just needs more ball.

| I'd keep Evalds at full back until Locke proves himself. He's only had one decent game in a Salford shirt so far (vs Huddersfield).

| Its got to be Locke (when fully fit). I cant get my head around why people say hes only played one decent game. Did anyone watch him against Catalans at home last season and the widnes game. We have rushed him back a couple of times and its caused him to get injuries.

| If both fit, you would have to play the man in form, Evalds and I would have Locke on the bench.
With Hood and TWO forwards on the bench, to run the Catalan forwards around

It's tough on the forwards when you include a back on the bench. One less interchange, and up against a strong physical pack like Catalans would, imo, put us on the back foot after twenty minutes. I think it's a valid call where your pack is expected to be dominant and the team are expected to attack for much longer minutes than defend. I can't see that happening in France.
So, for me, one will have to drop out. Personally, I think Locke will miss this one and get another week to make sure. The following matches after France are much more important, and to give Locke that extra time could be crucial.

| If everyone's fit then I'd always put Josh Griffin on the bench, can play across the back line and is big enough to play in the pack if injuries during the game required it.

I'm a big fan of Evalds but how does Locke prove himself if we don't play him?

I just hope he's ready and we aren't rushing him back too soon because of our other injuries.

He looks about as interested as Mario is interesting, you can't be as quick as he is and just watch players ghost past him.

| Thought locke had a good game and did do much wrong. His push back for Rangi's try in second half was brilliant.

| Was expecting a hammering for all the reasons we saw. Great halfbacks and big strong backs. So I thought they'd probably score 40.
Just didn't think that we would !
I don't think there was a bad individual performance in our team. If I was being picky,I'd say that Adam Walne is a bit lucky to make the 17 .
Massive effort so well done to all concerned.
Cummins said that ref was wrong for the final penalty. Thought that the rule he referred to only applies if player breaks out of the tackle just as the referee shouts 'held'. This was different,he grounded the ball so he was tackled before he broke away again,so I think the rule change doesn't apply. Surprised to win the penalty, though,in all honesty

| As much as Niall Evalds has impressed me so far this season I think you don't have any other option than to play Locke at Full back.
Niall is only young and we know with time he will be Salfords full back.
I don't think we should play him on the wing over BJB or Johnson either unless one of them has a stinker one week.
I wonder if Patterson will stay on at Centre and Josh Griffin might lose his place when BJB is fully fit.
We've not been used to these team selection headaches is the past, it's a great problem to have.

| I was impressed with Greg Johnson's defence yesterday. A few to times he made good decisions to move in and close down the play. I'd just like to see us give him more service because he has pace to burn in open spaces.

This is Johnson's issue at the moment - he gets virtually no service. I've seen a few people suggest dropping him but that won't make the ball magically appear on our right wing for whoever replaces him. In fact, sod at the moment, it's been like that since he got here to be perfectly honest. I'f he got the kind of ball we sent to our left wing I'd hope he'd have scored/will score a lot more than he has, he's got pace to burn & a decent step as we saw vs widnes last year.

We're only into the first few games of the season. Once the team starts to tighten their drills he'll see more ball. He's not done anything wrong, and his defense seems to have come on since last year. Not time to panic just yet I don't think, so yeah, I agree with you on this.

| It's also worth noting Sa'u isn't the best centre to play outside if you're a winger. Very rarely will he create a gap or space for Johnson, as he his game is far more effective by simply bulldozing his way through.
We do need to be getting him involved more though.
