| Good news at last, but don't you just love the comments to the article in the MEN - here's one:
"More traffic, more people, more drunks, less parking for the People who live in this actual area. Did AJ BELL consider this at the time? If course not. They saw the pound signs and jumped on board. OF COURSE YOU CAN GREEN KING, said the stadium owners not giving a toss about the home owners who live in the immediate area. I Originally thought the stadium would be good for the area, now I see i was wrong."

| I mentioned this the other week when Amazon asked about starting the warehouse build early, but isn't there a caveat in the original plans stating that anything other than the building of the stadium can be started until the full link road is finished?
I'd love there to be a nice family restaurant near the ground, let's hope it's rugby themed and makes some form of concession too Salford/Sale season ticket holders, in my eyes the better the facilities surrounding the ground the better the game day experience will be.

I can't see it being a rugby theme because Farmhouse Inns is the Greene King theme. I'd imagine they have a consistent style of furnishings and decor in all their establishments. Companies work hard to develop a recognisable brand and their marketing people will insist on keeping to the same style. I think it's likely to be very similar to Applewood Farm in Astley.

They'd be missing a trick for me, say anyone who attends with a season ticket for any RL/RU club gets a discount that would Im sure tempt people. Barton is one of the few sports venues in the country that has top class rugby (okay I know that will cause great mirf from some of out 6 toed trolls) all year round and being close too the TC means there is likely too daily be people traveling past from other rugby towns.

| The season ticket idea may entice more custom but I think they will be looking beyond just rugby. For instance the volume of people in the vicinity when all the retail is built and Port Salford which will create several thousand new jobs..

makes me Laugh , It's Brookhouse , not Mottram St Andrew -
They lived next door to a Scrap heap and a busy motorway & the land the stadium was on was a dumping ground with illegal off road bikers making a noise you could hear from Davyhulme. Hardly Wordsworth country .
Anyway since the Airport Hotel was demolished , they're one Pub down .. just wait til the Ikea get planning , then they'll have something to moan about

Have AJ Bell not realised a statement to distance themselves from Peel Holding's plans?
They could lose hundreds of potential investors from the Brookhouse district.

I don't quite follow because there won't be a house within about 300 meters of this new pub/restaurant will there? And surely 95% of the customers, 95% of the time won't be on foot. Surely the plans must include ample parking facilities?

There are a few questions in this thread which i have found some answers for (boring few days at home!)
The planning application for Farmhouse Inn includes parking spaces for 100 cars (few more separate ones for staff). Contained in the planning guff are details it will create approx 20 FT jobs and 50 PT. The building also contains 3 self contained flats, (a 3 bedroom for the manager and 2 double beds for deputies). Importantly there are patios on 3 sides (hardy for a summer sport ).
It is located in the piece of land that is enclosed by the old lay-by and the A57, at the end closest to the recycling /current main access road.
If any one else is as bored as me:
A link to the overview plan:
dctmviewer.salford.gov.uk/Stream ... IX%203.pdf
or even more bored a link to the whole planning pack:
dctmviewer.salford.gov.uk/Planni ... /65236/FUL
Slightly(off this topic but close enough), I attended the Peel consultation in the stadium a few weeks ago which was Peel's application to amend its original application for Port Salford. To keep it brief there are not allowed to operate any warehouses at port (the retail pieces around the stadium to not fall into this) until the new road and rail link is completed and they wish to amend this to allow 1 warehouse to be build and open before the infrastructure is in place. This is not Amazon and all they would say it is a food retailer - however if anyone knows Traford Park better than I do, they all ready have a smaller warehouse there employing about 30 people who would more with an additional 200 jobs created.
As for the bridge Peel are trying to blame the Highway agency for the delay, piling has started but the bridge (which will be constructed off site) has yet to be approved let alone built. As for timescales: a young lad from urbanvision (no doubt just out of uni with a degree in traffic management insisted it would be open this May (even as I laughed out loud), a lady ( under pressure) for Peel suggested April 2016 and another gentleman from Peel felt confident about August 2016; so take your pick!

| Always had a suspicion if any eater were to be built on the site that it would be where Greene King are building, good site for them as it's nearer the houses and far enough away from the ground that the Wombles in hi viz jackets won't have control of people getting in and out after the game.
As for the bridge I was told months ago that there were flaws in the original designs, it's to be hoped that the link too the Brookhouse roundabout is finished as that will be a huge help on game days.
The food retailer I'm pretty certain will be Ocado, they have a small outfit on Trafford Park Road which I'm sure I've read they want too expand.
It just occurred to me that Greene King are quite heavily involved in RU, you'd hope that Salford are already in their ear about becoming involved in RL also.

| Oh dear, Marshy, that comment is of the pot calling the kettle black idiom.
"Will someone please teach Michigan Red the correct use of "to", "too" and "two". Sometimes, it is like reading a 5 year old's postings." (Note: 5 years old is even better.)

That and that fact that it is one of the things my dyslexia makes it hard for me two spot.
Never ceases 2 amaze me how Marshy seems so interested in my posts, where as I am ambivalent 2wards his ramblings.
The workings of a small mind I guess.

I was worried that a comment about Port Salford would be O\T and up pops someone with a comical attempt at an English grammar lesson, to totally derail the thread.
