What as a fan are you expecting from our 3 pre season games???

For me, i want to see a team that looks as though they have played together for a long time,

I want to see fitness, ok we might not see match fitness,

100% effort from every player on the pitch in attack and defence,

Also i want to see 3 big scores against lower teams, not sure why we are not playing a super league team as a pre season match,

Maybe Harris is keeping his powder dry, and not giving anything away to other super league teams, on how well he has got the performing together, as playing lower division teams wont give much away hopefully, except to Harris and the rest of the back room staff.

But lets just hope for a better season from the team this year, and lets try and get more fans turning up.

I'd like to see the young lads make a play for a SL starting spot and I'd like us to keep the pedal to the floor for 80 mins.

I'd like to see us come through without injury or suspensions

I'd like too peace on earth and an end too famine but while Swinton is the way it is there's no hope of either



As for the games I'd like to see a ruthless streak, go out in all the games intent with running up the highest score possible, that the pack goes out and monsters them to gain some impetus for the first two games which for me have the ability to set the trend of the season. Win them both and we will have arrived, struggle and there is the risk of a new false dawn.

I'd like to to see the games taken seriously and not as some meaningless jog in the park. If they go well we won't have to read the usual excuses on here like . . It was only a friendly. Blah blah blah.

Let's start and show we mean business I say. Players need to understand the commercial responsibilities and
have a duty to whet the appetite of the fans/lapsed support.

I was hoping that the Fev game would be a 7.30 kick off to make it possible to get back on the train before 3am - but this has now showed up on their website as an 8pm kick off. I was starting to wonder whether the game was happening as it was on neither club's website fixture list a week ago (it's still not on ours, but then ours still has Warrington away down as a Sunday) and there's been these rumours about problems with the pitch at Fev after the work done on the slope.

Are the kids playing pre season games before the first team as well?

I know it's for a good cause but I'm surprised that the charity game tickets are £20 each, make it cheap and cheerful and get as many people from the local area down as possible. There has too be a lot of new people from the area who the club can attract to a game for the first time, do it right and generate interest in the club.

£10 for adults and £2 for kids would of brought a bumper crowd, to support the cause and see the reds and just maybe get that extra fan or 2 who have never been before to the first match of the season.

But i have no doubt SMC are not doing it for free and that is why the tickets have to be £20.

The swinton game is £20.00 per adult or you can get a family ticket (2 kids and 2 adults) for £30

Sorry too expensive, I know two people who aren't going because it's on the expensive side just after Christmas.

Should have been cheaper and promoted to the people of Salford/Swinton as a good way to raise funds for charity and too get a good taste of quality local sport.

Like when they did the last home game of the willows they did a lot of promotion.

Granted this is slightly different but a well promoted joint venture with some charities/ councils at £10.00 a ticket you might of got close to a sell out!!

£10 a ticket and I would of been able to bring a car full of people. But £20 for a friendly is just too much for people after the festive period.

IMO, despite all the positive steps taken recently regarding marketing, I feel the club have missed an opportunity here.

Does anyone know what/if the stadium are charging for this game?
They'll obviously make on the stewarding, carparking and refreshments. Are they charging us for the use of the ground too?

Got a feeling the R.F.L decreed, That whenever possible Super league clubs would arrange friendlies against Championship clubs with the R.FL. setting the admission fee, and all monies going to the Championship club, as a means to helping them

Roy,this is a benefit game for The family of the deceased.
Neither the stadium company or the two clubs, should be taking any monies,in my opinion.

So it seems there's some doubt about the Featherstone game going ahead.
Inresting the RFL fixtures site has us playing a game against Hunslet Hawks on Saturday 24 at 2pm.
Anyone know if this is a replacement fixture or a under 19s fixture.

Busy Weekend for Hunslet , if they are playing Salford at South Leeds on the Saturday , they are also away to Doncaster on the Sunday 25th.
