| What crowd are we expecting? I'd be happy if we could get over 6k again. I'm not sure how Warrington's pre sales are going but I imagine they'll bring 1,500.
Odds on the kick off being delayed again?

| We can't hope to get decent crowds until the car parking and roads are sorted out. For the Wakefield match, we were queuing on the motorway because of the stupid traffic lights the council have set up on the roundabout. So if you're coming from the north, there are two sets of lights on the roundabout followed by the lights on the road to the stadium.
They don't have the sense to use the link road to the stadium as two lanes because of other events they hold on the adjacent fields. Nor do they attempt to control the traffic lights at the main road. Result? It takes an hour and a half to get off the car parks.
I would have come to the Warrington match, but I like to have a beer on a Friday night and everywhere round here would be shut by the time I'd get home. So I won't be coming.
Contrast this arrangement with Wigan, where I reluctantly went 10 days ago, and I was home, a similar distance, within 25 minutes.
They manage to clear seventy thousand plus from Old Trafford in half the time that it takes to get away from the A J Bell with a tenth of that number!

Park at Eccles ARL, walk 15 minutes and you're away easy. Plus you avoid two sets of the traffic lights you mentioned. I presume the 70,000 at Old Trafford aren't all parked within 1 minute walk of the stadium exit like the people who have problems leaving Barton.

| I guess if you prefer a pint to watching your team play it says it all. For what it is worth, I have one pint after the game then drive out of the car park and am on the motorway within 10 minutes. If you look hard enough you can find any excuse not to attend.

I'll get home about 1am, that's leaving the ground straight away, not being stuck on the car park and not having a pint after. You either want to watch the team, or you don't. You can either miss the game for a legitimate reason, or be there. No excuses.

| I’m bored of the stadium argument. If you CHOOSE to park directly outside of the stadium, then you need to accept that there will be a delay in leaving. It’s well known the official car parks are locked down 15/20 minutes after full time for the safety of the thousands vacating the stadium. So if your choice is to park onsite, you must expect a delay of 30-40 minutes sat in your car or as someone else said, go for a pint/drink in the fans bar.
If you need to get away pretty sharpish, as has been mentioned countless times. Either park at Eccles ARLFC (15 minutes walk and instant get away) or Barton Airport.
The club are also operating shuttle buses now, although the success of these I don’t know. Anyone used them?

| I've parked in barton airport before. Worked well. The only decison was whether to walk an extra few hundred yards to cross at the lights, or to take your life in your hands crossing the dual carriageway....
Obviously the lights are the way forwards.

| No, as you’ve never been able to previously. You can however purchase a ticket from the ticket office before hand, although I would avoid this if possible as ques are likely.
Assuming you haven’t got a ticket already, get onto the Salford website today or tomorrow, purchase a ticket and print it off. You can then present this e-ticket at the gate.

Thanks, will do. Looking forward to the game, should be a close contest.

Codswallop!! If that was the case then thousands of people wouldn't leave Old Trafford 10 minutes before the end of the game and run to their cars to avoid the queues. The car park on Matt Busby Way doesn't even open until an hour after the end of the game to let punters out due to crowd congestion. I've seen queues there two hours after the final whistle.

Have you tried getting out of the north stand at old trafford on match days, your there for a good 40 - 60 minutes. Its not like were doing something about it, the bridge and roads are being built now. Yes they should of been done last year but thats Salford Council for you

| Hull KR have the same issues and also Wigan, if you do not plan your parking.
Leeds is a hell to park as every space in the roads is occupied by the local students and you have to drive around and around to find a space.
I've been jammed in Hull's ground's carpark for a considerable time as well.
Funny enough, these seem to attract a lot of fans.
I keep asserting that it is the situation of the ground more than the car-parking. It's a good idea to have an "out of town" site, but the public transport to it is ridiculous. How many fans can get on a 67 on a Friday night?

Bingo. Not to mention the fact that the tram doesn't go beyond Eccles and the nearest railway stations are an absolute trek away. Mind you, couple of decent pubs between the ground and Patricroft station...

| I know Geography is not important when you live in outer Leeds, but your quote
"when mandy buys bulls and your crowds drop":
please explain the correlation between Mrs Koucash buying Bradford
and
fans leaving Salford to travel to Bradford?

So access roads and car park don't affect attendance? Wake up.
How many would Barton and Eccles RLFC hold? Nowhere near enough if everybody took the advice offered on this thread. The problem would just have been moved.
For the record, my remit in RL is wide and while I have a keen interest in SRD, I would not count myself as an ardent fan, and will attend different teams' matches through the season.

| I am fed up of all the winging about access to the ground. Yes last year was almost a farce BUT I have not encountered a problem for the last two matches.
For each game I did not see a queue at either the ticket office or turnstile.
If you choose to park at the ground, as I do, then you must accept some delay on leaving. At both matches we waited about 20 minutes and then drove straight through the lights and were away. It was about the same as walking to Eccles RL although we didn't have a pint afterwards.
I think we should acknowledge the efforts of the club to alleviate the problem. It will only get better when the new road in completed.
Too many people are happy to jump on the criticism bandwagon rather than give credit.

This, for every argument against why people decide to go or not — money struggles, family issues, transport problems, whatever. Some of the lengths some people have gone to watch Salford, when it was probably in their best interests not to, are testament to this. Either go or don’t.

The atmosphere has been bobbins since we moved, in fact it has been bobbins since about 2007. The shed wasn’t exactly rocking in our last few years at the willows.
I think part of the problem at the new stadium lies with the more vocal fans being behind the sticks and miles away from opposition supporters, also we have pockets of fans who don’t agree with song choices and won’t join in unless their group starts a song (which sometimes I can understand, as our song choices at times are awful)
For example on Friday we had the usual “y Warrington” (which is fine every now and again, but not every two minutes), we also had that awful “it’s always your year” chant going at one point, my toes are curling just thinking about it now, we also have a habit of shouting “whhhhhooooooooooooo, whhheyyyy’ when we make a tackle after we’ve got the opposition pinned on their own, this usually ends with the opposition making a break from their own half or we give away a penalty – once again its cringe worthy! We’ve gone from vocal, passionate, and quite an original fan base and turned more into the usual moronic, not very original, typical rugby league club fan base (I wouldn’t rule out a drum the way things are going!)
