Reading in today's League Express, Garry Schofield's column with him assessing the Super League's seasons performances, their outstanding player.
Well he is correct saying that Our Season was awful.
But to say that Stephen Wild had a good season, well.
He also calls our new team Dad's Army and does not think will gel as a team I stand to be corrected but I think our average age for next season is lower than last seasons
No mention of Warrington and Leeds Dads Army teams

Garry Schofield has disliked Salford even since a Schofield family member wasn't retained by our academy a few years back. It's simply personal and he takes every opportunity he can to put the boot in.

why are people talking about comments made in league express from an average ex-player. he wasnt a good player all he did was just follow the ball about as a back up and got on the end of a move.... take no notice of him like wirecutter said its a personal thing he has against the club because his son wasnt even good enough to get taken on by salford... if he was good enough a bigger club at the time would have taken him on. so mr over rated schofield please be quiet... you are starting to sound like eddie and stevo

Agree he was a fine player in his prime but he was a failure as a coach and he's a terrible pundit.

TBH you wouldn't have needed to pay homage to the Oracle of Delphi to forecast our Difficult season just gone.

A quick search on other teams ( Hull Leeds Wigan ) pages will also lead to similar bouts of Bovine excrement from him .

I disagree, he was a world class player like it appears he has made the seamless transition to being a world class talentless pundit.

Seems to me he is bitter that his Son got binned and made also that he has struggled to make a living from the game since his ill fated coaching stint.

It seems that all sports (outside cricket and Union) so fill their stars with self- importance that years later, they still expect a good living from that sport. By watching sport (and paying for that privilege) means I am supporting this malaise and do not know the answer.

I didn't have a great deal of respect for him as always found him to be a bit of a gobe but there's a hint of cowardice in his article which goes over and above this.

Absolute balls. Watch the 1990 and 1992 Ashes series with Schofield pulling the strings in the two closest series of the last 40 years.

I agree with you Iain, with how the game was played back then he was a really good player very good at spotting when to back up the break when he knew it was going to lead to a try (which isn't easy to do) I don't think his style would fit into today's game but as I said the style of the game back then was perfect for Schofield.

Not that I should bother with you as you are either a troll or know nothing worth knowing, but just to put you in the picture this "Salford Red All Over" comes from Weaste thats in Salford you know, the spiritual home, but somewhere between moving to Swinton my memory of what constitutes a quality rugby league player has been erased as I crossed the border a whole three miles into Swinton.
