Dr Koukash has confirmed on twitter that the club have reached an agreement with Ryan McGoldrick to release him from his contract with immediate effect.

He also added we are still chasing a number of players, but we are not in rush to sign them and will wait until their current clubs accept our terms.

There's 90k a year to spend on the cap then.

Do like that things like this come direct from the Doc for now but you'd hope when the processes at the club are fine tuned that we have a press release direct from the club and I'd hope that they get the press down to the club once a week and invite different players and coaching staff to Q&A sessions with the press as you see them do in the NRL.

That's right.
He's earned a living with a number of clubs over the years.
He's a better player than given credit for,played with our kids last season and did one or two smart things and a few daft ones.
I expect he will find a club quite easily,on reduced money,as he does have something to offer......just not to us

It’s not in my nature to get carried away but if we pull these signings off we could realistically become the most improved club (over one season) in the history of rugby league.

Another great decision by the doc and the coaching staff, McGoldrick was never good enough and by all accounts taking up quite a big wage. I’m excited to see who we next bring in, like Wirecutter has said I’m not one to get carried away, in fact I’m the most pessimistic person there is but to say I’m peaking for the start of next season is an understatement, I’ve never felt like this before, things really could start to happen for us.

There was a rumour doing the rounds last week that Leeds wanted to swap 3 players for dk and pa and also pay a fee. Maybe this rumour is fuelled by Kath Hethrington going to Wakey as acting CEO and her husbands position at Leeds. If Wakey need to find a chunk of money fast I'd have thought a straight cash deal would have suited them better than player swaps and a smaller sum.

Who knows for all we know it could just be a ploy in the hope it may trigger an increased bid?

There was also a rumour on the Wakefield board that Salford had bid for DK but had the bid turned down. Then, when the scale of Wakefield's financial problems became apparent, Wakefield asked Salford if they were still interested, but Salford said no because of how they were treated first time around. Therefore, DK was off to Warrington.

Like the rumours of the two Wakefield players coming to Salford, this was from a 'reliable source'.

They can't all be right, so the conclusion to draw from this is that rumours are, on the whole, a load of boll=#000000ocks and should be treated as such.

The manner in which Agar publically criticised our club, I wouldnt want us to give them anymore money. Obviously Danny Kirmond is a quality player and I wouldnt want us to cut our nose off to spite our face, so if the option to sign him was there, I would hope we dont go a penny over our valuation of player and get a good deal for Salford RLFC in the process.

It's such a shame that Red League isn't on twitter. He's missing out on all these big announcements.

He doesn't need it. His sources within the club are so good he even knows things the [iplayers involved[/i don't know themselves, like how Elliot Whitehead was signing tomorrow.
