Just noticed on the web site that the Players are back for Pre season training at the end of October.Warm weather training and then a trip to Australia which will include a few games against some Aussie opposition have already been mentioned by Brian Noble so looks like its going to be a whole lot different to last years pre season.Nice to see.Amazing how far the club have come in such a short time.

Niel Wood didn't seem that sure that the warm weather training was going to be in Aus when asked on Monday.

Tbh I think Dr Koukash will have the final say in a lot of things. If he says its happening then it probably is.

Spoke to Jason Walton who confirmed they would be heading to Australia for Pre season training.

In my opinion we should have games against Leigh and Swinton with all the gate money going to those club after what happened before the start of last season.

quite liked him when came off the bench for us , always ran hard , would be a great story if he did come good back with old club.

Great gesture from Swinton RLFC when they donated money to us in our hour of need, pity their fans are not quite so magnanimous. Still a thought that crossed my mind was that some of the money left over from the SOS funds could be given to Swinton. I'll probably be shot for suggesting that.

I'd rather any cash like that was used, where possible, to help develop some of the proposed facilities for the squad. We may have a rich owner, but that doesn't mean we can't pitch in and help out along the way.

A friendly with Swinton taking the cash would be a better way of doing it.

Anyone know what monies are left from the SOS fund?

Spoke about it briefly at Mondays meeting, after returning all monies donated in cheques to all who sent.
We have been funding an extra physio for the players for the last 3 months for the season.
The residue of the money, which I am waiting for an exact amount, as it is still deposited in a SCR Foundation account.
When the figure is given, it was decided to give donations to charities within rugby ie, RL Cares, Joining Jack & Steve Prescott fund. Any monies left after that to assist within the club, as said, the money was raised for Salford so to be used for Salford.
I will further update when the balance is given to the SOS committee

It's simple, as far as I'm concerned: we have to play Swinton and Leigh in pre-season friedlies, with all proceeds going to the respective clubs.

Before we embark on what will hopefully be a succesful first year as Salford Red Devils we should give thanks to both clubs - Swinton in particular - in recognition for what went on at the start of this year.

This Shirt takes on greater significance now.....you know since your all going to be stood in the Bell stadium.

However that is a gracious comment made by You along with GT and Derek and for what it's worth the Swinton management could do no worse than have an opening pre-season friendly with Salford.....it would be your fans chance to see the new players which would I am sure mean a decent turn out.
I suspect however the opening friendly may be with Oldham since they are your linked club and particularly since Dr K has stated an intention to buy that club.
