| One player I was gutted we didnt sign when it was announced he was going to Wakefield. I rate him really highly, shocked Wigan are letting him go. Just the type of signing we should be making, young, British, hungry and talented.

My thoughts exactly.Would really like to see him join us.

| Mentioned we should look at him when we announced the Smith signing the other and pretty much mirror the thoughts of those above me.
Of all the signings announced yesterday we only have 1 extra second row (I think Rapira and Puletua will both play in the front row as for me we are still short) in Hoch so Hock, Dixon, Ashurst and Tuson would be an excellent pool to chose from. Still not sure if Wild will play as an automatic starter of one of these will be moulded into a loose.

| He is young and English, but we also have a couple that fall into the same category that you seem to ignore, Jordan Walne and Will Hope, let's give our own kids a chance, or what message are we sending them.

| With our current squad & new signings I think we're very strong in the halves, second row & centre. Those should be the last places we're looking for more signings now, in my opinion of course.

but this quote is of more interest ..
Quote "It is believed that another Super League player is also trying to back out of a deal to sign for another financially stricken club for next season."
'"
Could that be the OK Bulls??
Lee Gaskell, Dale Ferguson , Gareth Carvell, Luke George already named as incoming in 2014
Carvell and/ or Ferguson would be useful

I have reservations that we are still very light in the front row (Morley and McPherson for me are too injury prone) so Carvell would add significant grunt going forward. Ferguson for me is too similar to who we have already got and I'd rather go with Tuson if it were a toss between the two.

| Jordan Walne very high in the pecking order imo. Not sure whether Wild will be there next season.
Also feel that with Marwan`s statement of intent many players will WANT to come to Barton.

| Noble said last night it looks like he's going (Wild).
Who will play loose next year? I'd guess Rapira if fit, anyone else have experience there?

Providing we don't sign one, I'd be tempted to give Dixon the job if needs be.

In the printed MEN - but NOT online - under the Tomkins 1m headline - there is an effort to link Salford with Soward, despite his 4yrs contract in Oz.
I was trying to work out how many scoops Neil Barker had with those that have been signed,or whether it was reported elsewhere first, which I think was the case.

| Where would Soward fit in? Can't see him playing at lock as he's just not big enough.
as KOTS says if we don't get a specialist #13 Dixon has the skill sets to become a very good option.

| Dixon sounds a better bet than Rapira. A known quantity & can expect him to play 80 every week for pretty much the entire season too.
I have no faith in anything Barker writes...That said, I honestly appreciate the fact he manages to get the team in the paper every day. No such thing as bad media!
Besides, we cannot possibly get anyone else in the quota.

| Jordan Davies is coming along very nicely and could also do the loose job.I believe Rapira has bulked up and can be used as prop.At least that was the plan with him at the Warriors.

Not a bad option and he'd a good goal kicker and hoofs it a mile from the hand.

Think Mullaney will be the Goal kicker but certainly having a good kicker at loose will give great options. The other positives with Davies is he is very good in the tackle/contact and being an ex RU Centre has a decent amount of pace.I rate this lad and given a full pre season to prepare for a Rugby League season i can see him being a big player for us next year with his ability to cover several positions.

| Wakefield situation seems to be getting worse by the day so can't blame Tuson for having second thoughts. I bet nobby and the dr are hanging back for Danny kirkmond. Unfinished business for us there. Rather have kirkmond than tuson.

| Horrible as it sounds but London going should signal to someone at the club too look at Dixon.
Also as importantly id get a tie in with the Skolars as there does seem to be no little talent down there, if we don't a Wigan or Leeds will.

Talking to a lad who knows Davies at the game last night, he mentioned that he was the goal kicker at Sale and had a massive boot on him. I've not seen his kicking game but is nice to have options.
I agree with the above I think he will be a key player next season, he certainly puts in the big hits and his passing accurate.

| Out of he current squad, I'd pick Dixon at loose all day long. I reckon Davies with a bit more time under his belt could become an excellent 13.
Ps Rapira is a prop.
