| Been here a while now and I haven't seen any improvement. If anything we have gone backwards since Allan and Sean were in charge. Needs to buck his, ideas up as he's taking a good wage and done nothing for our defence or attack? I understand we're all waiting until next season but surely we should have seen some improvement! Still think we got the wrong Brian! Yet to be convinced otherwise!

Tbh I can see improvement in our performances in patches, it's just the fact that the players we have don't have the quality to produce the goods forva full 80 mins I don't think their is a coach in Australia or England who could do better with this set of players.
In my opinion Nobby has been playing different formats with different players not to win matches necessarily because the season is over anyway, but to asses what the players are like under different kinds of pressure in different positions, I think his mind is now fully made up whos worthy of the shirt and whos either not got it phisically or mentality. Brian noble isn't stupid he know exactly what he's doing.

| I'm not a fan of Noble, however, he got the job and I'll give him a chance. I'm going to hold onto my thoughts until we've had a pre-season with the players he wants. I think it a little unfair to judge at this stage.

I agree and they do say it's common for a team to go backwards under a new coach before they start to improve under a new system/structures.
The disappointment for me is that after Magic I felt Noble appeared to be having a positive impact and making some good progress, especially with our defence. However if you compare Hunte v Noble over their reigns we are shipping an average of 12 points a game more and scoring 4 points less now. I suppose you could argue that the opposition has been different but we do now have an extra assistant coach in our backroom setup.

| To be fair to Noble he nor anyone could do much with the squad he inherited. We were so far behind the rest of super league due to our circumstances that we were bound to struggle. Admittedly some of the scorelines we have had have been very hard to take but the voice in the back of my head keeps saying be thankful we are still in business and lets wait and see what occurs next season. I had written this season off as a long pre-season but it has been grimmer than i imagined on the field and a bit odd off it with our chairman and his somewhat "enthusiastic" approach to things. When Noble has his team with his players we might be able to judge things better....six or so games into next season we may see just where we are and how succesful things have been..until then lets hold our nerve and smile through the pain. We may still have a rosy future.

| Personally I cannot see any improvements at all. Our form has been shocking - we regularly ship 50 points + under Noble, and as an attacking force which was the one positive to our game its now restricted to 5 drives and a kick - RL from yester year IMO. Can I state Noble has my full backing and I will not slate the guy when he has inherited mainly a bunch of championship players but - facts are facts especially when you consider Phil and Alan had the same crop of players more or less. Has the game moved on since Noble's hey days? Are we less of an attacking force post Longy? As I said Noble has my backing 100% but its hard to stand there week in week out watching the team I love and say we are improving.

| This 5 drives and a kick thing is an absolute myth. I can't remember us doing it once on Friday, except a couple of times when we were camped on our own line and kicked on the 4th, which is what any team in that situation would do.
Seems to me that certain people want Noble to fail for whatever reasons.

| I don't think the Doc employed Noble because of his turd polishing abilities and let's be honest to get anything from his time this season that is exactly what he would have had too do.
I think where you will see Noble's influence is post season, I expect the team to go on a pre season warm weather training camp to Australia or NZ and maybe a pre season friendly or two over there while looking at cementing ties with a team in the NRL (Noble let's not forget was/is held in high regard over there).
I expect Noble to bring a different style of play to the team which while I doubt it will be the type that the Doc has in his minds eye I have every confidence that the team will win more than they lose next season with a structured and polished Noble style of play.
I doubt very much if Noble would except players in his team or squad that he specifically didn't want which I think would have been a possibility with other coaches with the Docs head strong approach to things.
And I have no doubt that Noble has spent his time away from coaching keeping well versed on new methods and techniques, I also think that Noble will be the main driving factor behind the scenes towards a more scientific approach to training, nutrition and recovery. I think that Noble will also be a constant thorn in the Docs side about the use of Leigh and the possible use of the facilities at Carrington.

| As painful as it is at the moment - and I think our hardcore support deserve medals as big as frying pans - the 3 man coaching team is new and as such they require time to find their own feet as well as trying to understand where the players have been, and are going,in terms of coaching and team play.
Trying to understand each individual has been made more difficilt with the circumstances of the overhaul being undertaken.
It is hard to determine if Noble will be hands-on or doing a Woodward, where in the other code he was head coach but ensured everyone else was in position and doing their job.
I tried to find a link but only [url=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/article-322892/Woodward-unveils-Lions-management-team.htmlFound This[/url where he even selected the chef and probably the tea maker - and talking of tea cup - thinking correctly under pressure - it may be down to the players !
[url=http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/international/england/3020428/Manager-believes-in-the-tea-cup-to-brew-rugby-World-Cup-success.htmlApologies for another other code link[/url
One worry I do have is the time it will take to mould the side with all the new recruits with the restructuring decision still to be decided for the season after.
Exciting times ahead and the faithful few will certainly deserve the good times when they come.

| Never was a huge fan of Noble , but he's a long way off being McRae
If you read the book Noble Put out -for the Joining Jack charity
Especially the Chapters - Adversity & Conflict & Criticism.
There's a few paragraphs in there that illuminates where he is now in the Salford set up.
I think , no pre season - the practical demise of the Club pre- post Xmas & stripping of our best Players & the disruption caused by 3 coaches in quick succession will have had more of an impact on our performances.
I guess with a large portion of our squad notified as ' deadwood ' won't make his job any easier.
too early to attribute Noble as cause .IMHO.
And he's got the unenviable job of trying to attract top quality players to a club with a terrible reputation as a basket case operation .
Bring his players in - get good training facilities & a strong pre-season under our belt and pray we get a good start to 2014. if not then we might have cause to single out Noble with Justification ?

Buddy as my post states he has my backing 100% - I've not missed a game and seen a fair few points in the against column so at £22 a game he must have! Brian noble had a certain style which was a big pack that drove forward and liked a kick on the last play that's a fact. It was obviously effective - but at that time. For me the game has moved on somewhat and I hope noble is the right man as another new coach would be really bad for the foundations we are trying to lay. But if you ask me what improvement noble has made on the same players Phil and Alan had, well we have gone backwards so far IMO

What I think people don't realise about our style of play last year compared to this year is, this year we haven't got the quality of player like Matty Smith, Daniel Holdsworth or Joel moon to play an expansive type of game throwing the ball about like the Harlem globetrotters. This year we have the second string/fringe players of last year and people expect the same performances, well it's not going to happen.
Brian Noble has come into the club knowing what the winning brand of RL is, where as last year we scored some nice tries we also let in a lot of them aswel, Noble knows the Bradford Bulls (1997-2005) type of play is a successful one as we've seen teams like Huddersfield, Leeds and even Wigan adopt a similar style of set up and play. What nobby does realise about Salford is we're not good enough to be expansive with the likes of McGoldrick and foran in key positions. So he try's to play basic error free rugby with a good kicking game, but again due to our weakness of playing staff we can't play that way due to the forward pack being to lightweight and the inability to finish of set plays.
At the end of the day This isn't nobles team it's not even Veivers team its the rejects from what's left of his team, wait until next year when nobby brings In players who fit into his style of play and you'll see just how effective it is.

| You will be fine with Nobby just as soon as he starts coaching money, he struggles with the poorer quality players but when he has talent at his disposal then he is a good coach , like Tony Smith.
There are very few decent coaches that can do the job with ordinary players
