| Think last night there was very brief glimpses of the improvements and potential backwards steps that Noble will bring to the team.
Forgetting the result for a moment thought that you could see that there are the early signs of defensive improvements and I very much hope that the club has at last started to coach the players on the grapple or wrestling technique other clubs use to slow the play the ball down legally. Thought we saw some players show much more aggression going forward.
The down side to me seemed to be that some of the attacking flair was missing, I'd hope that this isn't due to the departure of Long and different instructions being passed on as a result.
Last night if we could have made it a 40 minute game and let the new attendees shoot of home at half time I think they'd have been impressed as it was a good entertaining game, the second half I think the team ran out of ideas and Bradford showed that they have a couple more quality players who can pull of wins against teams pretty much single handedly.

| Most shocking thing again last night was the poor quality and fitness of our overseas players.
They are appalling and I hope I don't have to see either in a Salford shirt again.
Mauro shows signs of quality but his fitness is shocking.
Foran's fitness is actually worse and he shows few, if any, signs of quality. His 'defence' is appalling, his passing technique from the floor was as bad as Howarth's and at times he was a liability (two consecutive penalties leading to one of Bradford's tries).
I really hope that these two and McGoldrick are only on one year deals.

| Shifting the deck chairs round won't help. Foran, for one, isn't good enough. Simple as.

Gaskell and foran in the halfs would give us alot faster and more creative ball then what we are getting at the moment Gibson wasted on the wing and so is Gaskell in the centres

| Can you not recognise what a POOR PLAYER Foran is? And that's before we even look at his APPALLING lack of match fitness.
Fages is not the finished article but he possesses far more innate ability than Foran and will only get better. Foran is a typical Simms-style recruit and has glaring deficiencies in his game wherever he plays.
Sneyd's field kicking was one of the few encouraging signs last night.
This season is effectively a write-off so it makes far more sense to focus on developing our own young players than to waste time with sub-standard imports.
As for Gaskell: there is undoubtedly a talent there but his game management and decision making are not good enough for a top class half. Switching him to centre could be a master stroke. He does need to improve his defence though.

The defence system and performance was definitely better.
Aside from the Sneyd mistake behind his own line, sadly he normally gives one try away per game, and the soft try from dummy half we defended well.
Giving 2 quick scores before halftime seems a habit that is hard to break but they weren't particularly bad tries from a defensive viewpoint.
The problem is the attack. We're playing with only one effective half back and, whether you like Chase or Sammut, either would have won us the game.
Shuffling the squad won't work,we need improvements to the squad and ,as this can't happen anytime soon,we must accept that we're treading water until next season and just doing our best until then.

| I thought McRae was back after that second half performance and I do not think the first was much better.
Most of the freebies were bored to tears and started messing with the chairs, running up and down the stairs, and finding some other entertainment than the dross dished up on the pitch.
Since Noble has come we appear to have gone backwards.
Heavy defeats to Wigan,Warrington and now a big home loss to a team with a shed load of players missing.
I went to Bradford away and the comparison in performances is something that I noticed last night.
Bradford are a poor team and we made them look like worldbeaters.

Granted I was down the opposite end in the abysmal viewing area that is the South Stand, but our defence looked like the Red Sea when confronted with Moses for the Matty Blythe try before half time.

I think the important word there is team.
Bradford have been together last year before, during and after there financial meltdown.Their coach Cummins was assistant and there has been continuity and stability. Our lot now have the umpteenth coach in,this term alone,so after the emotional strain of 2012 has come the upheaval and need to learn new stuff from new coaches.
During the stoppage for the Nero injury their players formed a huddle and were all together. Our lads were in pairs passing - 2 pairs - the rest looked lost. They should all have been together and warming up/cooling down - already off to a bad start with the delayed kick-off.
I couldn't understand why there was no high kicks to Sammutt in the 2nd half given his unwillingness in the first half.
I saw signs of improvement after the last 2 performances.
It was a shocker for new supporters.
If they are true Salford people,or have the slightest understanding they will come again.
I was reminded of a quote I saw by former Bradford coach Elliott, who was there when Noble started coaching.

| Wouldn't leave Fages out next week, thought he was one of our better players. I think we need to find a way to get Gaskell in at 6, he's very quick as well. I'd play him at 6 with Ford at centre, although I actually thought McGoldrick had a decent game. Have to agree about Foran though, he was blowin out of his a*se when he cane off first time, he flies out of the line in defence and leaves huge holes, he doesn't offer much in attack from 9 & Wagga with Owen as interchange would be much better. Like the look of Emmit, we def got the better of that deal. Sneyd had a poor game in every department last night IMO. Jodie looks frustrated as he doesn't have a specialist centre next to him & hasn't had a settled partner all season, I still don't understand why he is wasting a tackle and carrying from dummy half when we need to make metres in our own 40. He looks like he wants to leave now as has been suggested by his dad I believe. We desperately need reinforcements either for straight away or announcements for next season ASAP to give us something to look forward to. Not going to attack Noble whatsoever, unfortunately the players aren't good enough. Now he has his backroom sorted we may see an improvement, hopefully at both ends. Thought we defended reasonably well for majority of the game but we still lack concentration and that's where teams are killing us. To be able to run under the sticks unapposed for a couple of tries in totally unaacceptable. Those, to my mind are individual errors rather than faults with the structures in place.
